Deva, directed by Rosshan Andrrews, starred Shahid Kapoor as a police officer. While Shasha played the lead role, the likes of Pooja Hegde and Pavail Gulati essayed pivotal roles in the film. Deva is the Hindi remake of Andrrews' Malayalam movie titled Mumbai Police. However, both films had different climaxes.

Deva hit the silver screens on January 31, receiving mixed reviews from the audience and critics. While the majority of the critics praised Shahid Kapoor's acting, they were disappointed with the pace and screenplay of the movie.

Despite a promising storyline and talented cast, Deva couldn't set the box office on fire. It failed to rake in big moolah, leaving the trade experts surprised. The lifetime worldwide gross box office collection of Deva stood at a range between Rs 51-59 crore, as per media reports.
