From Comedic Timing In Very Parivarik To Raw Emotions In Anurag Basu’s Metro In Dino, Pranay Pachauri Shines

Metro In Dino Pranay Pachauri

Pranay Singh Pachauri is quickly becoming one of the most versatile and exciting actors in Indian cinema today. From powerful stories like The Kerala Story and Shershaah to thrillers like Chal Kapat. His fun and natural comedic timing in Very Parivarik made him an instant hit with audiences. Pranay has shown that he's not afraid to try different kinds of roles. Now, he's taking on something completely different with Metro In Dino.

Pranay's journey has been slow, steady, and all heart. No shortcuts. He shares, "I've always appreciated slow success because it keeps me grounded and focused on learning. It helps me stay detached from outcomes and enjoy the process. The journey has been an emotional roller coaster ride with moments where I have contemplated and doubted my decision to be an actor to moments where my work has brought in the necessary validation which has reinstated my faith in myself. But it's a long journey and I have miles to go before I sleep."

With Very Parivarik, Pranay brought humour and relatability to everyday family life. Reflecting on it, he says, "Comedy is extremely challenging as there's nothing in the middle. You either make a great comedy show or it's just bad. As an actor, it was both interesting and challenging. The most fun part is to keep a straight face while the situations are hilarious, while the hard part was repeating those moments for the camera. What helped me was trusting my own sense of humour and timing. The team created a supportive, Parivarik environment, which made it easier to take risks, be vulnerable, and ultimately, be myself."

Now, he's gearing up for his next big release 'Metro In Dino', directed by Anurag Basu. Pranay describes his character and shares his experience. "I play Rohan, a character caught between the guilt of being a loyal friend and giving his love a second chance. I share screen space with Anupam Kher sir. It was a pleasure working with him."

He continues, "Anurag Basu, or Dada as we call him, is truly unique to work with. Often, I'd get three pages of script just 15 minutes before the shot. He doesn't give you much time to analyze; instead, he encourages you to stay in the moment. It's a very different approach from many directors, and being part of his process was a valuable learning experience. He showed great faith in me, shared jokes, and made me feel completely at ease which made me want to give my best every day on set."

From comedy and drama to action and thrillers and now a romantic musical like Metro In Dino, Pranay is steadily building a name for his range. He shares, "Versatility is my biggest strength and something I'm genuinely passionate about. I've intentionally taken on a variety of roles from action to comedy, drama, and thrillers because I love storytelling and discovering different aspects of myself through each character. Christian Bale is a major inspiration for me, and I aspire to reach that level of craft. I'm committed to always growing and evolving as an actor," he ends.
