Kesari Chapter 2 OTT Release Date Update: Earlier this year, Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar returned to the silver screen with his new film Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh. Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, the action-thriller marked the talented actor's comeback after the semi-success of Sky Force and fans had huge expectations from Kesari Chapter 2, especially after the success of the 2019 hit Kesari.

Akshay Kumar's critically acclaimed Kesari Chapter 2 has reportedly concluded its global theatrical run with a total collection of Rs 144.35 crore gross. Despite high expectations, the film underperformed at the ticket window and managed to earn Rs 93.28 crore from the Indian market, however, much more was expected from it.

Kesari Chapter 2 takes a bold step into history, shedding light on a powerful courtroom battle that followed the tragic Jallianwala Bagh massacre. Instead of focusing only on the event itself, the film zooms in on what happened after-the fight for justice in a time when colonial power silenced most voices.

Akshay Kumar leads the film as C. Sankaran Nair, a sharp and fearless lawyer who once held the position of Indian National Congress President. After the shocking incident in Amritsar, Nair risked everything to challenge the British government legally. His actions, filled with courage and determination, turned into a landmark case that exposed the cruelty of the colonial regime.

Inspired by The Case That Shook The Empire by Pushpa Palat and Raghu Palat, the story dives deep into how this landmark case sparked resistance and helped shape India's freedom movement.

Ananya Panday plays Dilreet Gill, a key character who brings emotional strength to the story. R. Madhavan takes on the role of Neville McKinley, whose presence adds complexity to the political angle of the plot. Meanwhile, British actor Simon Paisley Day portrays General Reginald Dyer, the controversial figure held responsible for the tragic events at Jallianwala Bagh.

Backed by Dharma Productions, Cape of Good Films, and Leo Media Collective, the film blends real history with powerful drama, offering a fresh look at a story of courage, sacrifice, and the fight for justice.

As reported earlier, the streaming rights of Kesari Chapter 2 were acquired by Jio Hotstar. According to reports, the film is now all set for its digital premiere on June 13. However, an official confirmation regarding the same is still awaited from the makers' side.
