Alpha OTT Release Date, Platform: After the underperformance of Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR starrer War 2 last year, Yash Raj Films' Spy Universer returned to the silver screen this week with Alpa. Featuring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari in the lead roles, it is the first female-led spy thriller of the universe and moviegoers were eagerly awaiting its theatrical release.

Also featuring Bobby Deol as the main antagonist, Alpha was finally released on July 3 amid a good buzz and high expectations. However, the film has received a highly mixed response so far. While a section of viewers are liking the spy drama, the remaining ones are finding it predictable and not upto the mark.

ALPHA OVERVIEW: STORYLINE AND EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

For those unaware, Alpha revolves around a secret programme run by Fateh Singh Lakhawat (played by Bobby Deol) who separates Sita from her family soon after birth to make her a highly trained assassin. Played by Alia Bhatt, Sita is raised in isolation and is unaware about her family and long lost sister Durga (played by Sharvari).

As soon as she learns about her stolen childhood and Fateh's reality, she decides to take revenge from him for the sake of herself and her country. Directed by Shiv Rawail, the film has been performing decently at the box office so far but it'll be interesting to see how the spy thriller will fare in the opening weekend amid tough competition from Akshay Kumar starrer Welcome To The Jungle.

ALPHA OTT RELEASE UPDATE: WHEN & WHERE WILL THE FILM STREAM ONLINE?

While Alpha is currently playing in theatres, a section of fans are waiting for its OTT debut. For those unaware, Netflix has already bought the film's rights even before its theatrical release. However, the makers are yet to confirmed an official streaming date.

While there's no confirmed date, recent Bollywood films are often released digitally six to eight weeks after their theatrical debut. If we keep that pattern in mind, Alpha is likely to premiere on Netflix in mid-August or August-end. However, this remains purely speculative as neither the streaming service nor the makers haven't yet announced the same.
