Glory Actor Divyenndu Opens Up On Mirzapur The Film; Says 'Whatever We Have Done Is Glorious'

Anticipation around Mirzapur The Film is growing, with Divyenndu Sharma calling the 2026 release a major turning point. The Mirzapur web series star shared fresh insights about the gangster drama, which will mark a new big-screen chapter for the franchise while keeping its violent, small-town crime setting intact.

Divyenndu is currently gearing up for Netflix’s upcoming series Glory, which will premiere on May 1. Alongside this, the Pyaar Ka Punchnama and Chashme Baddoor actor has completed work on Mirzapur The Film, which has become one of the most talked-about Hindi releases announced for 2026.

Mirzapur The Film: scale, experience and audience expectations

Speaking to News18 Showsha, Divyenndu described Mirzapur The Film as the most awaited project of the career so far. The actor said the film has been mounted on a large scale and shared that the shoot was very enjoyable, suggesting that the team is confident about the final product.

Divyenndu believes Mirzapur The Film offers the kind of cinematic experience viewers expect from the franchise. The actor called the movie “full paisa vasool” and said fans will finally get what they have been waiting for. “Let me not oversell it or reveal things, varna log bohot zyada karte hain, but whatever we have done is glorious,” Divyenndu added.

Mirzapur The Film: fresh chapter, production and release details

A source earlier told Zoom that Mirzapur The Film will not extend season 4 of the series. Instead, it is planned as a separate cinematic chapter that aims to surprise audiences. The makers reportedly want this film to be a first-of-its-kind move in India for a streaming-origin franchise.

According to the same update, Mirzapur The Film will expand the show’s universe for cinemas while keeping the narrative raw and gritty. The team behind the project is said to be working on a larger visual scale, but without altering the grounded tone that made the original Mirzapur web series popular.

Mirzapur The Film is backed by Excel Entertainment and Amazon MGM Studios and is set for a theatrical release on September 4, 2026. Reports state that Sonal Chauhan will feature in a dance number in the gangster drama, with the track inspired by “Mehbooba Mehbooba” from Sholay.

Directed by Gurmeet Singh and written by Puneet Krishna, Mirzapur The Film features Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, Jitendra Kumar, Ravi Kishan, Abhishek Banerjee, Rasika Dugal, Shweta Tripathi, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Harshita Gaur, Sushant Singh, Mohit Malik, Sheeba Chaddha, Rajesh Tailang and others. Jitendra Joshi replaces Vikrant Massey in this version of the story.

Mirzapur: The Film draws from the Mirzapur web series, which launched on Amazon Prime Video in 2018. Season 2 arrived in 2020 and season 3 in 2024, building a loyal fan following that the makers now plan to carry into theatres with this standalone big-screen chapter.
