Maa Behen Early Review: Madhuri & Triptii Give Strong Performances In Crime Comedy But Dharna Durga Leaves….

Maa Behen Early Review: Triptii Dimri, who was last seen in Vishal Bhardwaj directorial O'Romeo earlier this year, is now making headlines for her second project of 2026. We are talking about Maa Behen which is a black comedy thriller. Directed by Suresh Triveni, Maa Behen also features Madhuri Dixit, Dharna Durga, Ravi Kishan, Geetanjali Kulkarni, Arunoday Singh etc in the lead. Ever since the trailer of the movie was released, Maa Behen has been one of the most anticipated releases of the year.

To note, Maa Behen is a dark comedy that follows Rekha (played by Madhuri Dixit) and two estranged daughters Jaya (played by Triptii Dimri) and Sushma (played by Dharna Durga). Their tense reunion turns chaotic when a neighbourhood priest suddenly dies in their kitchen, forcing the quarrelling family to face curious neighbours while trying to hide the incident. Interestingly, Maa Behen marks Triptii's second collaboration with Madhuri after Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and fans are quite excited to see them in one frame again. As Maa Behen is set to release on Netflix on June 4, here's the early review of the movie.

As per a post shared by actor turned critic Kuldeep Gadhvi, Maa Behen is a "wildly entertaining family-crime comedy that keeps you laughing, guessing, and emotionally invested till the very end. Highly Recommended!". He gave the film 4 star rating and called it 'an absolute entertainer that successfully blends comedy, crime, drama, and romance into a thoroughly engaging cinematic experience'.

Talking about the performances, Kuldeep wrote, "Madhuri Dixit is simply magnificent. She brings grace, charm, and impeccable comic timing to the role. Triptii Dimri delivers one of her most entertaining performances. Ravi Kishan is a complete scene-stealer. Dharna Durga leaves a strong impression with a confident and believable performance. Arunoday Singh brings intensity and authority whenever required. Geetanjali Kulkarni is outstanding as always. Suresh Triveni deserves immense credit for bringing this unique story to life. His direction is confident, stylish, and emotionally intelligent. He understands exactly how much humor, suspense, and emotion each scene requires".

He further concluded, "Maa Bahen is a delightful surprise and a complete package. It offers laughter, suspense, emotion, romance, and memorable performances, all wrapped in an engaging story..Must Watch For Netflix".

Meanwhile, during the promotions, Triptii got candid about working with Madhuri in Maa Behen and stated, "I think there's so much that I've learned from ma'am because growing up, you've always seen her from a distance and admired her. But when you get to know her as a person, there's a completely different, very beautiful side to her. I want to be like her. Even if I become a big star of her stature, these are the qualities I would want in me - the humbleness, the kindness, the giving nature. No insecurities, nothing.
