One Piece Season 3 Release Date: Will The Third Season Of The Series Be Out In 2026? Here's What We Know

One Piece Season 3 Release Date: The Straw Hats are not dropping anchor yet, as Netflix has locked in One Piece Season 3 and mapped out the next leg of the voyage. The live-action series is set to continue Eiichiro Oda's huge story, with new episodes moving deeper into the Grand Line and taking the crew straight into the dangerous Alabasta conflict.

One Piece Season 3 Release Date

Netflix confirmed that One Piece Season 3 is officially happening, announcing the renewal in August 2025 after months of hints from the cast about future shoots. The streamer actually ordered the third season before Season 2 premiered, signalling strong faith in the show's performance and giving the production team time to plan a much larger narrative arc.

When Will One Piece Season 3 Release?

Fans should not expect a quick turnaround for One Piece Season 3, judging by earlier schedules. Season 1 arrived in 2023, while Season 2 only reached viewers in March 2026 after a long and complex production. With Season 3 filming reported to have started in late 2025, the most realistic window for release appears to be around mid-2027.

The extended gap between seasons is linked to the scale of work required on One Piece Season 3, especially the visual effects. The show relies heavily on CGI to depict Devil Fruit abilities, large-scale battles and fantastical locations across the Grand Line. Producers therefore need considerable post-production time to keep the action clear, energetic and visually consistent with previous seasons.

One Piece Season 3 Cast & Characters

The main Straw Hat crew will remain at the centre of One Piece Season 3, with no major departures expected. Iñaki Godoy returns as Monkey D. Luffy, joined again by Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp and Taz Skylar as Sanji. Their dynamic continues as the emotional core of the adaptation.

One Piece Season 3 also keeps Tony Tony Chopper on board after the Drum Kingdom storyline cemented the character as part of the crew. Chopper, voiced by Mikaela Hoover, now joins the main ensemble on a permanent basis. Once a character becomes a Straw Hat in the series, that membership sticks, so viewers can expect Chopper involved in both action and emotional scenes.

New allies and villains in One Piece Season 3 Alabasta arc

The narrative of One Piece Season 3 will largely shift to the desert kingdom of Alabasta, where a civil war threatens to tear the country apart. Princess Vivi stands at the heart of this crisis, facing unrest among citizens while a hidden conspiracy worsens tensions. The Straw Hats must uncover who is manipulating events behind the scenes and stop the country from collapsing.

The key antagonist of One Piece Season 3 is set to be Crocodile, the pirate warlord secretly steering Alabasta's chaos. Joe Manganiello will take on a larger presence as Crocodile, while Lera Abova's Nico Robin also gains more screen time. The season introduces several Baroque Works agents, including Mr. 1, Miss Doublefinger and Bon Clay, each matching against different Straw Hats in separate confrontations.

Portgas D. Ace and future threats in One Piece Season 3

One of the most anticipated arrivals in One Piece Season 3 is Portgas D. Ace, Luffy's older brother. Xolo Maridueña steps into the role, bringing a major figure from the wider One Piece story into the live-action timeline. Even if Ace appears for a limited stretch, the character's presence is expected to leave a strong mark on the season.

Ace's introduction in One Piece Season 3 could also deepen references to Blackbeard, the mysterious pirate already mentioned in Season 2. Blackbeard's storyline runs far beyond the Alabasta material in the manga, forming part of One Piece's distant future. For now, those hints simply broaden the world, while the Straw Hats focus on Alabasta's war and the painful clashes ahead, including Luffy facing Crocodile directly.

Across its first two seasons, the live-action One Piece moved from the East Blue saga into the Grand Line, slowly building its crew and enemies. One Piece Season 3 now aims to deliver a more unified storyline in Alabasta, with higher stakes, new fan-favourite characters like Ace and deeper teases of future villains, while still keeping the Straw Hats' journey at the centre of the show.
