Prashant Tamang Death Reason: Indian Idol season 3 winner Prashant Tamang has died at the age of 43, leaving fans stunned. Prashant Tamang passed away on 11 January, a Sunday, at the residence in Delhi. Media reports state Prashant Tamang was taken to hospital, where doctors declared Prashant Tamang dead on arrival. The news spread quickly across music and screen communities in India and abroad. Many who followed Indian Idol since 2007 recalled Prashant Tamang's journey from uniformed service to national fame. Prashant Tamang was born on 4 January 1983 in Darjeeling, West Bengal, into a family linked to public service. Prashant Tamang auditioned for Indian Idol in 2007. Once Prashant Tamang entered the show, organised support campaigns grew across the Darjeeling hills, Sikkim, and Nepal. Those efforts helped Prashant Tamang secure the Indian Idol Season 3 title with 70 million votes. Later Prashant was seen in Gorkha Paltan in 2010, Nishani in 2014, and Pardesi in 2015. He also grabbed a lot of eyeballs with his role as sniper Daniel Acho in Paatal Lok Season 2. There have been speculations about what happened to Prashant suddenly.

According to media reports, Prashand Tamang, who had turned to the National Capital after a live performance in Arunachal Pradesh, suffered a cardiac arrest. He was seen rushed to a hospital in Dwarka, where he was reportedly declared brought dead. The media reports also suggested that Prashant suffered no major health complication before his sudden collapse.

Prashant Tamang is survived by wife Geeta Thapa and their young son. Relatives are still discussing whether the last rites will take place in Delhi or in Darjeeling.
