Satluj X Review: Is Diljit Dosanjh's Film Worth The Wait Or Over Hyped? Check Audience Tweets

Satluj X Review: Diljit Dosanjh surprised his fans across the world recently as his much delayed and most awaited film released online. We are talking about Satluj, which was earlier titled as Punjab 95, which was released on Zee5 on July 3, 2026. The movie happens to be biopic based on the life of prominent Sikh human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra. Directed by Honey Trehan, Satluj features Diljit in the lead role of Jaswant Singh, along with Arjun Rampal and Suvinder Vicky.

For the uninitiated, Satluj revolves around Jaswant Singh investigating the state-sanctioned extrajudicial killings in 1990s Punjab. The movie has been the talk of the town ever since it was announced and the teaser created a massive buzz among the audience. However, Satluj was mired in a controversy after objections from censor board wherein the makers were asked to make 127 cuts. However, after being stuck in certification battle for years, Punjab 95, which is now titled as Satluj finally saw the light of the day without any cuts and it has got the audience brimming with an opinion.

Satluj Twitter Review

Taking to the micro-blogging site Twitter, a user wrote, "Powerful performances and an emotional tribute to the life of Shaheed Jaswant Singh Khalra. Films that encourage people to learn, reflect, and discuss history have an important place in society". Another user gave Satluj a 5 star rating and was all praises for Diljit's performance. The tweet read as, "Bollywood came up with another banger called 'Satluj' Panjab'95 movie based on human right activist of Punjab Jaswant Singh Khalra who fought against illegal encounters by Punjab police. @diljitdosanjh just nailed it". One of the users also tweeted, "Watched the awaited film #Satluj, highly recommended, shows the guts & sacrifices of Shaheed Sardar Jaswant Singh Khalra ji & @KaurKhalra ji & others who fought for justice,leaves us speechless, numb & wet eyes🙏🏻thank you @HoneyTrehan ji @diljitdosanjh ji @ZEE5India. Waheguruji". Another user also praised Arjun Rampal's stint and tweeted, "Diljit with another brilliant performance after Main Vaapas Aaunga. Really liked @rampalarjun's work too. And Kanwaljit Singh. Brilliant film, @HoneyTrehan - Glad it's finally out for the world to see #Satluj #Panjab95". On the other hand, London based self proclaimed critic Umair Sandhu dropped fire emoticons for Satluj.

Meanwhile, talking about Satluj's release after a long wait, Diljit stated, "Our film has finally been released on Zee5. Unfortunately, we couldn't keep the original title Punjab 95 for certain reasons, so it is now called Satluj. But there are absolutely no cuts in the film. The version I watched in theatres two years ago is exactly the same one I watched at home last week. If even a single cut had been made, I would not have promoted the film".
