I
Am
Kalam
is
about
an
inventive
child
from
a
very
poor
family,
who
does
not
let
grim
circumstances
ruin
him.
He
starts
working
in
a
small
road-side
food
stall
during
day
to
support
his
poverty-stricken
family.
In
the
meantime,
he
reads
books
in
the
evening
with
an
aim
to
get
education
and
become
somebody
in
the
future.
On
one
fine
day,
the
boy
happens
to
meet
the
local
prince.
He
was
captivated
by
the
neck
tie
of
the
prince.
In
the
meantime,
the
prince
is
also
aback
by
the
way
the
boy
has
tamed
a
camel.
Interestingly,
they
became
friends
despite
all
the
social
barriers.
The
boy
then
decided
to
change
his
future
once
and
for
all
after
hearing
a
speech
by
Dr.
Abdul
Kalam,
the
former
President
of
India.
He
is
inspired
by
the
former
president,
because
like
him,
he
also
became
a
great
person
in
spite
of
going
through
lots
of
hardships
in
his
childhood.
He
decided
to
change
his
name
from
Chhotu
to
Kalam
with
an
aim
to
become
a
hero
oneday.
As
luck
has
it,
the
prince,
with
whom
he
shares
thick
friendship,
helps
him
out
in
realising
his
dream.
