Sperm
Donation
is
a
subject
that
we
talk
about
only
in
our
bedrooms,
but
infertility
is
a
huge
problem
in
the
modern
society.
Possibly
keeping
this
major
issue
in
mind,
director
Shoojit
Sircar
made
a
bold
attempt
with
his
latest
release
Vicky
Donor.
Sircar's
brave
attempt
with
a
forward-thinking,
avant-garde
movie,
finally
turned
out
to
be
quite
impressive
and
a
true
entertainment.
Vicky
Donor
narrates
the
love
story
between
a
Punjabi
boy
and
a
Bengali
girl,
set
against
the
backdrop
of
sperm
donation.
Vicky
is
a
good-for-nothing,
jobless
fellow
until
he
donates
his
sperms
for
good,
under
the
influence
of
Dr
Chaddha,
who
runs
an
infertility
clinic
in
Delhi.
Vicky
falls
in
love
with
a
Bengali
banker
and
soon
gets
married
to
her.
But,
story
takes
a
twist
when
the
couple's
hunky
dory
world
comes
crashing
down
because
of
Vicky's
past
as
a
sperm
donor.
Ayushmann
Khurrana
proved
a
fine
actor
by
delivering
a
super
confident
performance
in
the
movie.
Yami
Gautam
makes
an
impressive
debut.
Vicky's
widowed
mother
Dolly
Ahluwalia
and
his
grandmom
Kamlesh
Gill,
definitely
need
special
mention
as
they
delivered
stupendous
performance
throughout.
Even
Annu
Kapoor
too
stands
tall
for
his
exceptional
acting
skills.
Talking
about
the
music
of
Vicky
Donor,
a
mandatory
'bhangra'
number
'Rum
Whiskey'
will
surely
get
you
into
the
foot
tapping
zone.
The
other
soundtracks
'Mar
Jayian'
and
'Pani
Da
Rang',
too
scores
hit.
Vicky
Donor
marks
John
Abraham's
foray
into
production.
On
the
whole,
the
movie
is
a
light-hearted
tale
and
a
sure-shot
crowd
puller
with
its
controversial
subject
of
sperm
donation,
peppy
music,
fresh
star
cast
and
huge
entertainment.
