Happy Ending Viewers' Review: Mixed Response

Happy Ending movie released today, the movie's main lead characters don't believe in the concept of love while the main lead's ex-girlfriend doesn't know anything but to love. Sounds complicated? It is!

Just before all this commotion starts there is a Bollywood single screen theatre superstar who wants to undergo a makeover and become the king of multiplex theatres as well, this is not just my description but the actual words the supposed superstar says. So a portion of this movie shows you what exactly Bollywood is, how the actors and directors think and what romantic comedy films are like in our film industry.

Now we know how cliched our Bollywood films are, but we always wondered if these actors and directors are also aware of these facts or they are just playing dumb, turns out they are aware. The directors of Go Goa Gone, Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K have brought out all the typical plots and scenes our Hindi films are based on, they even mock and criticize it, like a spoof movie!

But turns out in the process of this so called spoof of typical Bollywood rom-com, they are actually selling you a cliched Bollywood rom-com just packaged differently with some snazzy and funny one-liner jokes.

Boy meets girl, boy falls for girl, girl says no, some rain, some sad songs then hurray, boy gets girl. Bored? Don't be, while the basic gist of the story is the same, this being a spoof has a lot of funny instances and a quirky twist to the narration of this old tale.

Saif has performed really well and it shows rom-coms are his forte, Kalki, Ranvir and Govinda are the show-stealers while Ileana managed to make her presence felt. Personally 2 hours in the theatre went well, if I was not rolling on the floor with laughter, I wasn't begging for my ticket money to be returned either.
