It was a fine and pleasant Monday morning until I decided to screw my day and money watching the film Humshakals, so claimed 'nine times the fun'.
With so much promotional activities and director Sajid Khan's tall claims about the film, somehow I was convinced that Humshakals will be a fun ride. Moreover, having such a big star cast with comic genius like Saif Ali Khan and Riteish Deshmukh, I was super excited while booking the tickets.
But, the 158 minutes that I spent watching Humshakals at the theatre made me realise that this was perhaps the worst Monday morning I could ever have.
The movie Humshakals as expected was too far from any realism but to my utter bad luck, the film was too far from any good comedy as well.
Riteish Deshmukh and Saif Ali Khan tried their best to make the audience laugh but they miserably failed, all credit to the 'brilliant' script and cheesy punch lines.
I wonder what made Sajid Khan think that the line 'Hum pagal nehi hai...hamara dimag kharab hai (We are not mad...we are just crazy)" is funny as this line has been the most repeated one and certainly the most irritating too. The ladies in the film, Bipasha Basu, Esha Gupta and Tamanna Bhatia were just eye candies.
The only thing that could keep the audience awake in the theatre was Saif, Riteish and Ram Kapoor's female avatars but that too after some time seemed over-streched.
To give a hint of the story of Humshakals, Saif (Ashok), a millionaire's son and Riteish (Kumar) are best friends who are unaware of their look-alikes who in turn also have look-alikes. On the other side Ram (Mamaji) who is Saif's wicked uncle also has two look-alikes, neither of whom are aware about the funny thing. And to make things even more confusing for the characters, all the three look-alikes of the three characters also have the same names.
Now, as you know the storyline of Humshakals and the above mentioned credentials, I suggest you to watch Humshakals only if 'You are not mad but crazy'.
