Bangistan
has
been
directed
by
ex
movie
reviewer,
Karan
Anshuman
and
produced
by
Farhan
Akhtar
and
Ritesh
Sidhwani.
Now
with
Karan
being
on
the
other
side
of
coin,
he
directing
and
others
getting
to
review
his
film,
let's
see
how
great
a
job
he
has
done
in
directing
this
comedy
flick.
Cast:
Riteish
Deshmukh,
Pulkit
Samrat,
Chandan
Roy
and
Jacqueline
Fernandez
Director:
Karan
Anshuman
Bangistan
Plot:
The
plot
of
the
movie
is
set
in
a
fictional
place
called
Bangistan,
while
the
north
is
occupied
by
Muslims,
south
Bangistan
is
inhabited
by
Hindus.
Hafeez
Bin
Ali
(Riteish
Deshmukh)
is
a
BPO
employee
who
often
gets
mistreated
for
being
a
Muslim.
Meanwhile
Praveen
Chaturvedi
(Pulkit
Samrat),
follows
some
guruji
who
is
the
leader
of
religious
Maa
ki
Dal
group.
The
Muslim
and
Hindu
leader
convince
these
two
to
take
revenge
from
the
other
religion
by
planting
a
bomb
in
the
International
Peace
Conference
which
is
taking
place
in
Poland.
Hafeez
pretends
to
be
a
Hindu
while
Praveen
pretends
to
be
a
Muslim.
They
end
up
staying
in
the
same
hotel
and
end
up
being
friends.
What
follows,
the
confusion,
them
happening
to
meet
hot
waitress
played
by
Jacqueline
Fernandez
forms
the
crux
of
the
story.
Performances:
Riteish
Deshmukh
has
done
a
decent
job,
a
talented
actor
whose
abilities
have
not
been
utilised
in
this
film.
Pulkit
Samrat
is
purely
overacting
and
trying
to
imitate
his
idol,
Salman
Khan
which
gets
a
little
irritating.
He
is
too
loud
with
his
dialogues
whereas
Riteish
delivers
an
okay
performance.
Jacqueline
comes
in
one
song
and
two
scenes,
so
can't
really
judge
her
performance.
Technicalities:
Karan
Anshuman
who
has
criticised
many
films
in
his
career
ends
up
a
big
flop
in
the
direction
department.
He
has
a
great
concept
on
paper
with
Farhan
Akhtar
and
Ritesh
Sidhwani
backing
him
up
but
he
fails
to
deliver
it
on
the
big
screen
and
whole
lot
of
confusion
in
the
story
just
messes
up
the
beautiful
concept
he
tried
to
show
us
through
this
film.
The
story
was
not
that
convincing
and
but
concept
was
good.
Verdict:
Bangistan
is
not
a
great
film
and
surely
can
be
missed
during
this
weekend
but
if
you
are
a
Riteish
Deshmukh
fan,
then
you
can
manage
to
sit
for
2
hours
in
the
theater
and
bare
this
bad
film.
