Dum Laga Ke Haisha Movie Review: Ayushmann's Best Ever

Love need not happen at first sight, sometimes it just happens and you don't even know about it. Today love's definition has changed where people give more preference to looks than the actual person, where rarely do we comes across couples who have gone beyond looks and found true love. True to that, this kinda love is what survives in real life.

Dum Laga Ke Haisha is all about the true love or like their tagline reads, about love that comes in all sizes. The movie gives us a picture of reality but with a lot of entertainment attached to it. Dum Laga Ke Haisha provides some good laughs and breaks all stereotypes with its lead heroine, Bhumi Pednekar.

Dum Laga Ke Haisha Plot/Story:

The story of Dum Laga Ke Haisha is about two people, Sandhya Verma (Bhumi Pednekar) and Prem Prakash Tiwari (Ayushmann Khurrana). Sandhya is a 22-year-old simple girl who weighs 85 kilos and has just two dreams in life, one to become a teacher and the other to marry a man who will both, love and respect her. Prem, on the other hand, is an ardent Kumar Sanu fan who is bossed around by his over-bearing parents.

Prem's father would have made a promise to his friend years ago and in order to keep that promise, Prem has to get married to Sandhya. While he has no problems with marriage as such, his idea of a life partner was not an overweight extra-large wife. Sandhya is happy with his matrimony and she tries real hard to bond with him both physically and mentally, which is very hilarious to watch.

Prem is already embarrassed by her, as if all these problems were not enough, his mother insists they take part in a running race where he would have to lift Sandhya on his back and run. No matter how much he tries to convince his mother otherwise, she just doesn't agree, leading him to once again bog down to his obligations towards the family. Will the two fall in love and solve their issues? Will he be able to participate and win the race? These form the crux of the story.

Dum Laga Ke Haisha Cast Performances:

Ayushmann Khurrana badly needs this movie to be a hit since his previous once managed to fail big time at the box office. This drive has led to give an awesome believable performance in the movie. Newcomer Bhumi Pednekar has given a spectacular performance and considering this is her debut, she is going to shine in Bollywood. Sanjay Mishra who will be seen as Ayushmann's father in the movie has also given a hilarious performance.

Dum Laga Ke Haisha Movie Technical Aspects:

Dum Laga Ke Haisha will see the return of Anu Malik, while the songs are not in line with today's trend, they are typical Kumar Sanu songs, which is what the movie demands from it. The director, whose previous attempt at directing a film went unnoticed, has given us a good laugh riot with this movie. His direction is simple, clean and apt.

Dum Laga Ke Haisha Movie Verdict:

Dum Laga Ke Haisha may not be that hyped but the film is worth the watch for it is a laugh riot with a message that says love comes in all sizes. We recommend a theatre watch, so book your tickets soon people!
