Review:
Survival
thriller
or
survival
drama
is
a
genre
that
is
not
much
explored
in
Bollywood.
However,
we
have
seen
some
good
films
under
the
genre
like
NH10,
Trapped,
Mili
and
a
few
more.
Now
today,
Apurva,
which
is
a
survival
thriller,
has
started
streaming
on
Disney+Hotstar.
The
movie
stars
Tara
Sutaria
in
the
lead
role
along
with
actors
like
Rajpal
Yadav,
Abhishek
Banerjee,
and
Dhairya
Karwa.
So,
is
Apurva
worth
a
watch?
Find
out
in
our
review
below...
Apurva
(Tara
Sutaria)
is
on
her
way
to
Agra
to
surprise
her
fiancé
(Dhairya
Karwa)
on
his
birthday.
But,
she
gets
kidnapped
by
a
group
of
goons
who
plan
to
rape
her
and
then
murder
her.
So,
will
Apurva
survive?
How
will
she
save
herself?
These
things
take
the
story
forward.
The
movie
is
written
by
and
directed
by
Nikhil
Nagesh
Bhat.
The
story
of
the
film
is
good,
but
Nikhil's
narration
is
bumpy.
The
movie
starts
on
a
very
interesting
note
but
starts
losing
its
grip.
In
a
survival
thriller
one
has
to
be
on
the
edge
of
the
seat
for
the
maximum
time,
however
that
doesn't
happen
here.
Apurva
picks
up
very
well
in
the
last
30-45
minutes.
It's
keeps
you
engaged
for
that
period
of
time
as
you
will
be
keen
to
know
what
will
finally
Apurva
to
do
to
save
herself
and
will
she
be
able
to
do
it
or
not.
But,
for
the
pre-climax
and
climax
portions,
you
need
to
be
patience
and
watch
the
whole
film.
Also,
this
film
is
not
for
faint-hearted
people.
It
has
many
violent
scenes
and
there's
a
lot
of
blood
in
it.
One
department
where
the
film
gets
full
marks
is
performances.
Tara
Sutaria
made
her
Bollywood
debut
with
Student
of
The
Year
2,
and
was
later
seen
in
movies
like
Marjaavaan,
Tadap,
Heropanti
2,
and
Ek
Villain
Returns.
Well,
till
now,
for
most
of
her
performances
she
has
received
mixed
responses
from
critics
and
audiences.
But,
with
Apurva,
Tara
proves
that
she
is
a
very
talented
actress
and
if
given
a
good
role
she
can
carry
the
film
on
her
shoulders.
In
and
as
Apurva,
Tara
is
excellent
and
she
has
clearly
given
her
career's
best
performance
in
the
film.
After
Tara,
it
is
Abhishek
Banerjee
who
grabs
our
attention
with
his
performance.
He
is
fantastic
as
the
antagonist
in
the
film,
and
leaves
a
strong
mark.
Rajpal
Yadav,
who
is
mainly
known
for
playing
comedy
roles,
gets
a
negative
character
to
play
in
Apurva
and
he
has
done
a
great
job.
Dhairya
Karwa's
screen
time
is
less
compared
to
other
actors
in
the
film,
but
he
makes
his
presence
felt
and
leaves
a
mark.
Overall,
Apurva
is
good
in
bits
and
parts,
and
it
is
Tara
and
Abhishek's
performance
that
take
the
movie
a
notch
higher.
