Review:
Dhak
Dhak
starring
Ratna
Pathak
Shah,
Dia
Mirza,
Fatima
Sana
Shaikh,
and
Sanjana
Sanghi
was
announced
with
a
lot
of
josh
last
year.
But
now,
the
film
is
releasing
in
theatres
without
much
buzz.
The
trailer
of
the
movie
was
released
a
few
days
ago,
but
it
has
not
grabbed
the
attention
much
on
social
media.
So,
is
this
film
worth
your
time
and
money?
Find
out
in
our
review
below...
Dhak
Dhak
revolves
around
four
women,
Sky
(Fatima),
Mahi
(Ratna
Pathak
Shah),
Uzma
(Dia),
and
Manjari
(Sanjana
Sanghi).
All
four
of
them
come
from
different
backgrounds,
but
now
they
are
on
a
road
trip
on
bikes.
They
decide
to
ride
from
Delhi
to
Khardung
La
(Leh)
in
7
days.
Will
they
be
able
to
complete
this
trip
successfully
and
how
will
this
trip
change
their
lives?
To
know
these
answers
you
need
to
watch
the
film.
We
must
have
watched
many
films
where
a
trip
changes
the
characters'
lives
and
of
course,
we
have
watched
multiple
films
about
women
discovering
themselves
and
their
strengths
through
some
situation.
But,
the
concept
of
Dhak
Dhal
is
different
as
we
haven't
watched
any
film
where
four
female
characters
from
different
age
groups
go
on
a
road
trip.
So,
that
makes
this
film
stand
out
from
all
the
other
female-centric
movies.
Dhak
Dhak
is
written
by
Parijat
Joshi
and
Tarun
Dudeja,
and
the
latter
has
directed
the
movie
as
well.
The
first
half
of
the
film
is
hilarious;
some
scenes
will
make
you
laugh
out
loud
and
there
will
be
tears
in
your
eyes,
no
not
because
of
any
sad
moment
but
because
you
will
be
laughing
so
much.
The
writing
and
the
narration
in
the
first
half
are
just
wonderful.
While
the
first
half
is
hilarious,
the
second
half
concentrates
on
the
drama
and
the
emotional
scenes.
But,
even
during
those
scenes,
the
film
doesn't
bore
you
and
it
will
keep
you
engaged.
Dhak
Dhak
also
talks
about
many
issues
that
women
face
in
our
country,
which
have
been
showcased
very
well.
Tarun
as
a
first-time
director
has
surely
done
a
very
good
job.
The
new
directors
are
surprising
us
with
their
direction.
Last
week,
Avnish
Barjatya
delivered
a
beautiful
film
like
Dono,
and
this
week,
we
have
Tarun.
A
good
film
requires
good
casting
and
that
has
surely
happened
here.
Ratna
Pathak
Shah
is
a
veteran
actress
and
she
has
proved
her
mettle
in
many
films.
But,
with
every
performance
she
surprises
us,
and
in
Dhak
Dhak
also
she
is
just
perfect.
Dia
Mirza
is
just
wonderful
in
the
film.
There's
a
soothing
aura
around
her
when
you
watch
her
on
the
big
screens,
and
also
it's
good
to
see
her
in
such
a
meaty
role.
Fatima
Sana
Shaikh
is
fantastic
in
the
movie;
there
are
some
really
difficult
scenes
in
the
film,
but
she
has
carried
it
effortlessly.
Sanjana
Sanghi
also
leaves
a
mark
with
her
performance
and
gets
the
perfect
amount
of
innocence
that
was
required
for
her
character.
When
it
comes
to
music,
the
songs
in
the
movie
are
decent
and
it
suits
the
film's
theme.
Even
the
background
is
quite
good.
One
person
who
deserves
a
special
mention
is
the
cinematographer
Sreechith
Vijayan
Damodar.
His
camera
work
has
done
wonders
for
the
film
and
after
watching
the
movie
you
will
feel
like
going
on
a
trip
to
the
mountains
soon.
Overall,
Dhak
Dhak
is
a
beautiful
film
with
some
amazing
performances.
It
is
surely
a
theatrical
ride
that
you
will
enjoy,
so
watch
it
in
a
theatre
near
you.
