Jawan Review: Shah Rukh Khan Starrer Is A Full-On Paisa Vasool, Massy Entertainer

Jawan Review: Earlier, this year, Shah Rukh Khan broke many box office records with Pathaan. The film collected Rs. 543.05 crore at the box office in India, and the worldwide gross collection was Rs. 1050.3 crore. The superstar is back on the big screens with his second release of the year, Jawan. The movie is directed by Atlee, a well-known filmmaker in the Tamil film industry, and with Jawan, he makes his Hindi directorial debut. The film stars Nayanthara as the female lead who is called the Lady Superstar of the South film industry. So, is Jawan worth your time and money? Well, the answer is a BIG YES! Read on to know more...
Jawan is about Chief (Shah Rukh Khan) who has a team of six girls, and with them, he does things that help the people of the country. But, his way of doing it is different. For example, in one of the instances, he hijacks a Metro train in Mumbai and does something that helps the farmers of the country. But, why is he doing this? What's the motive behind it? Well, to know all this, you need to watch the film.
The movie is written and directed by Atlee, and if you have seen his past work (Tamil films), you would know that he makes massy entertainers that have drama, action, romance, emotions, seeti-maar dialogues, and some amazing songs. Well, Jawan also has all these things. It's a perfect package, and the most impressive thing here is that Atlee has presented the film in a perfect Bollywood style.
We never doubted Atlee's filmmaking skills, but the only concern was whether he would be able to narrate Jawan like a proper Bollywood film or not. However, he has proved that he can very well make a Hindi film as well.
The first half of the movie is simply WOW! From action to romance to drama to dance, everything is just perfect. The interval block is amazing. But, in the second half in some scenes, the film loses its grip. Also, there are some very violent scenes in the film which might make audiences uncomfortable. These are the only two negative elements in the movie.

Shah Rukh Khan has done massy entertainers earlier, but the way he has been presented in Jawan is something we haven't seen before. It's no secret that he has a double role in the film, and he has done both parts wonderfully. Nayanthara makes her Bollywood debut with Jawan and she gets immense scope to show her talent. We hope she does more Hindi films.
From the six girls who are a part of the Chief's team, Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, and Lehar Khan steal the show. They have more screen time compared to the other girls, and the actresses have given superb performances. Ridhi Dogra, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Girija Oak, and Aaliyah Qureishi have less screen time, but they are good in their respective roles. Sunil Grover is wasted this time. We really expected more of him in the movie.
When it comes to the antagonist, Vijay Sethupathi he is very good in his role of Kaali. But, there's nothing new when it comes to his character. He has portrayed such negative roles. So, maybe for Hindi film audiences, his performance might be something new, but if you have seen his earlier work, Kaali as a character is not something new and unique.
The movie also has two Bollywood stars in a special appearance, Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt. The former proves that she doesn't need a full-fledged role to make a mark; she is wonderful in her role, and Dutt also leaves a mark.

Jawan would have been incomplete without Anirudh Ravichander's music. From songs to background score, Anirudh has done a fantastic job when it comes to music, and we won't be wrong if we say that his music surely elevates the film to another level.
Overall, Jawan has all the elements a moviegoer wants in a film. It's a perfect massy entertainer and you should surely enjoy it in theatres.
