Review:
Earlier
this
year,
we
saw
Manoj
Bajpayee
in
Sirf
Ek
Bandaa
Kaafi
Hai.
The
actor's
performance
in
the
movie
was
applauded
by
one
and
all,
and
recently
he
also
won
an
award
for
it.
While
Sirf
Ek
Bandaa
Kaafi
Hai
was
an
OTT
release,
Bajpayee
is
now
here
with
the
Joram
which
will
be
hitting
the
big
screens
on
8th
December.
So,
is
the
film
worth
your
time
and
money?
Find
out
in
our
review
below...
Joram
is
about
Dasru
(Manoj
Bajpayee)
who
is
working
as
a
labourer
in
under-construction
building.
He
stays
with
his
wife
and
a
kid.
One
day,
someone
murders
his
wife,
and
police
starts
thinking
that
Dasru
has
done
it.
Dasru
runs
away
with
his
daughter
and
how
he
tries
to
save
himself
from
cops
and
some
goons,
forms
the
rest
of
the
story...
The
movie
is
written
and
directed
by
Devashish
Makhija,
and
while
after
watching
the
trailer
you
might
feel
that
it
is
just
a
survival
thriller,
it
is
actually
more
than
that.
Joram
tries
to
give
a
very
important
message
about
our
environment
and
society,
and
Makhija
wonderfully
gets
that
on
the
big
screens.
A
lot
of
times
it
happens
that
movies
like
Joram
are
given
tags
like
it's
an
'arty
film'.
However,
Makhija
has
directed
it
in
a
proper
thriller
manner
that
it
will
keep
you
on
the
edge
of
the
seat
to
know
what
will
happen
next
and
if
Dasru
will
be
able
to
save
himself
or
not.
While
the
film
is
very
interesting
and
intriguing
in
most
of
the
parts,
in
some
scenes
the
pace
becomes
slow
and
that
is
something
that
disappoint
a
bit.
However,
what
takes
to
movie
a
notch
higher
is
the
fantastic
performance
of
Manoj
Bajpayee.
He
is
undoubtedly
one
of
the
most
talented
actors
we
have
in
the
industry,
and
he
once
again
proves
that.
Bajpayee
should
win
awards
for
his
performance
in
the
movie.
Mohammed
Zeeshan
Ayyub
is
also
very
good
in
his
role,
and
leaves
a
mark.
Tannishtha
Chatterjee
is
good
in
her
small
role.
But,
apart
from
Bajpayee,
one
actor,
who
grabs
our
attention
the
most,
is
Smita
Tambe.
The
actress
plays
a
negative
role
in
the
movie
and
she
has
done
an
amazing
job.
The
music
of
Joram
is
decent,
and
suits
the
film's
theme.
It
is
a
not
a
musical
film,
so
of
course,
we
can't
expect
some
chartbusters
song
in
it.
Overall,
Joram
is
a
fantastic
film
with
some
amazing
performances
and
a
very
thought-provoking
message.
After
Taandav
and
Bhonsle,
Bajpayee
and
Makhija
have
surely
done
a
hat-trick
of
making
fantastic
films
together.
