Review:
Vishal
Bhardwaj
and
Tabu
have
earlier
worked
together
in
some
fantastic
films
like
Maqbool
and
Haider.
Now,
the
filmmaker
and
the
actress
have
teamed
up
for
the
third
time
for
the
film
Khufiya
which
has
started
streaming
on
Netflix
today.
Well,
of
course,
the
expectations
from
the
film
are
quite
high.
So,
does
Khufiya
live
up
to
the
expectations?
Find
out
in
our
review
below...
Khufiya
is
about
KM
(Tabu)
who
is
working
in
R&AW
Agency
and
one
of
her
missions
fails
due
to
which
an
agent
dies.
Now,
the
agency
feels
that
one
of
its
own
team
members,
Ravi
(Ali
Fazal)
is
the
traitor.
Then
starts
a
secret
investigation
on
Ravi
and
the
movie
moves
forward
with
some
interesting
twists
and
turns.
Vishal
Bhardwaj's
films
always
have
a
dark
atmosphere
in
it
and
that's
there
in
Khufiya
as
well.
The
Vishal
Bhardwaj
touch
is
surely
there,
but
it
is
clearly
not
one
of
the
filmmaker's
best
works.
The
movie
starts
very
well
and
the
first
half
is
amazing.
It
keeps
you
hooked
throughout.
There
are
twists
and
turns
that
will
surely
make
you
sit
on
the
edge
of
the
seat.
But,
the
second
half
is
a
bumpy
ride.
While
some
scenes
in
the
second
half
are
very
interesting,
some
are
dull
and
fail
to
keep
you
hooked.
Also,
it
looks
a
bit
stretched
and
an
edit
of
10
minutes
would
have
made
it
more
crisper.
What
works
in
the
favour
of
Khufiya
are
the
performances!
Tabu
is
simply
excellent
in
the
movie.
There
are
scenes
that
will
surely
make
you
applaud
her.
Vishal
Bhardwaj
once
again
gives
her
a
character
that
will
make
her
win
awards.
After
Tabu,
it
is
Wamiqa
Gabbi
who
steals
the
show.
She
has
given
a
fantastic
performance,
and
after
the
film
is
over,
you
will
surely
remember
her
act.
Ali
Fazal
has
also
given
a
very
good
performance
and
he
leaves
a
mark.
Apart
from
these
lead
actors,
one
actress
who
surely
deserves
a
mention
is
Azmeri
Haque.
She
is
very
good
in
her
role.
It's
a
Vishal
Bhardwaj
film,
so
of
course,
the
music
has
to
be
good.
After
performances,
the
music
will
grab
your
attention
and
you
will
start
looking
out
for
the
film's
jukebox
so
that
you
can
listen
to
the
songs
again
and
again.
Overall,
Khufiya
is
not
one
of
the
best
works
of
Vishal
Bhardwaj,
but
you
can
surely
watch
it
once,
especially
for
Tabu
and
Wamiqa's
brilliant
performances.
