Salaar Review: After Baahubali: The Conclusion, Prabhas' fans have been waiting to watch him in a movie that does justice to his Rebel Star tag. But, his movies Saaho, Radhe Shyam, and Adipurush didn't receive a great response. The audience's only hope has been Salaar which is directed by KGF fame filmmaker Prashanth Neel. So, is Prabhas back with bang? Well, the answer is a BIG YES!

Salaar will be released in two parts, and the part 1 titled Salaar: Ceasefire has hit the big screens today. The movie revolves around a character named Deva (Prabhas) who is staying in a village of Assam and working as a mechanic. Aadya (Shruti Haasan) comes to India from the US and there are some people who want to kidnap and kill her, and the reason behind it is something that happened seven years ago. Deva is given the responsibility to protect her. Aadya is keen to know what happened seven years ago, and one of Deva's friends tells her the whole story. The movie goes into flashback and takes us on a thrilling ride.

Well, Salaar is the clear case of a not-so-great first half but an amazing second half. The first half of the movie is slow and you might feel that why anything interesting is not happening here. But, as soon as the second half starts, the movie picks up brilliantly.

There are some whistle worthy scenes after the interval and the action is simple wow. If you love to watch violent-bloody movies, then Salaar is a must watch for you. There are two major action sequences in the second half, one where Deva saves a girl and another where Deva and Vardha (Prithviraj Sukumaran) fight with the bad guys. There were whistles and claps in the theatre when these two actors came together for that action sequence. Prashanth Neel saved the best for the second half and the climax is surely the highlight of the film, and it will now make you eagerly wait for the second part. Also, the VFX in the movie is quite good. The city of Khansaar looks grand and amazing.

Performance wise, the movie is a treat for Prabhas' fans. After a very long time we are getting to watch him in a film that does justice to his talent and looks. His charismatic personality perfectly gels with the action in the film. Prithviraj Sukumaran has performed very well, and has scenes in which he surely steals the show. Shruti Haasan is okay in her role as she doesn't have much to do in the movie.

The background score has always been a strength in Neel's movies and here also it's not an exception. The music surely elevates the experience of watching the film.

Overall, Salaar is the perfect comeback for Prabhas and Prashanth Neel delivers what we expected from him, 'an entertaining massy action thriller'. So, do watch it in a theatre near you.
