Satyaprem Ki Katha Movie Review: Kartik & Kiara’s Love Story Will Leave You Surprised, A Must-Watch

Satyaprem Ki Katha Movie Review: After the surprise success of Sara Ali Khan and Vicky Kaushal's Zara Hatke Zara Bachke and the failure of Prabhas' Adipurush, the next biggie Satyaprem Ki Katha finally hit the theatres today (June 29) amid huge buzz and expectations.
Featuring Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon in the titular roles, the film's trailer, as well as music, got a positive response and moviegoers were eager to watch Satyaprem Ki Katha on the silver screen. It marks Kartik and Kiara's second collaboration after the blockbuster success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 last year.
Well, I'm a sucker for good love stories and when I got a chance to watch its first-day first show, how could I let this opportunity get just like that? Mera toh paisa full-on vasool hua. Now, let's analyze the movie.
SATYAPREM KI KATHA STORY REVIEW:
Kartik is essaying the role of a middle-class Gujju boy, Satyaprem, who's more serious about marriage than his career. Satya (Kiara Advani), on the other hand, belongs to a rich family. In their first meeting only, Satyaprem confessed his liking for Katha. However, she revealed being in love with Tapan.
A year after her breakup with Tapan, Satyaprem and Katha finally got married in an interesting turn of events. Don't worry, no spoilers ahead. While you'll find the first half pretty average, the second half totally makes up for it after a huge revelation that is going to leave the viewers shocked. And no, Kiara is not asexual in the film.
SATYAPREM KI KATHA ACTING REVIEW:
Kartik Aaryan looks endearing as Sattu while Kiara looks gorgeous as Katha throughout the film. For me, both of them have delivered one of their best performances in Satyaprem Ki Katha. While the duo shared absolutely thandi chemistry in their last outing Bhool Bhulaiyya 2, Kartik and Kiara look stunning together in this film.
Apart from his mass entertainers and Pyaar Ka Punchnama type of roles, Kartik should definitely focus on love stories as well and I'm looking excitedly looking forward to watching him in Aashiqui 3.
Gajraj Rao and Supriya Pathak as Kartik's parents made their mark. Supriya's scene with Kartik towards the end of the second half will surely touch your hearts. Rajpal Yadav as the doodhwala and Shikha Talsania as Sattu's sister had not much to do.
SATYAPREM KI KATHA OVERALL VERDICT:
Well, Satyaprem Ki Katha is not just another love story and will leave you pleasantly surprised in the second half. Overall, it's a good watch, and you'll love the music too.
