Review:
There's
no
doubt
that
Shilpa
Shetty
is
a
good
actress.
She
has
given
many
memorable
performances,
but
the
actress
is
unfortunately
not
able
to
make
a
strong
comeback.
First,
she
starred
in
Hungama
2
which
got
an
OTT
release,
and
she
didn't
have
much
to
do
in
the
film.
Later,
she
was
seen
in
Nikamma,
a
poorly
made
remake
of
Middle
Class
Abbayi
and
now,
it's
Sukhee
which
hits
the
big
screens
today,
and
sadly,
even
this
film
doesn't
give
a
good
comeback
to
the
actress.
Sukhee
(Shilpa
Shetty)
is
about
a
woman
who
is
a
homemaker
and
lives
in
Anandkot
with
her
husband,
daughter,
and
grandfather-in-law.
Husband
and
daughter
don't
respect
her,
and
it's
only
his
grandfather-in-law
who
always
stands
by
her.
Sukhee's
school
is
having
a
reunion
party
for
her
batch
and
despite
her
husband's
disagreement,
she
decides
to
go
for
the
reunion
in
New
Delhi.
How
her
life
changes
during
this
time
forms
the
rest
of
the
story...
The
basic
concept
of
Sukhee
is
something
that
we
have
seen
earlier.
A
middle-aged
homemaker
is
not
respected
by
her
family,
and
then
she
rediscovers
herself
and
understands
her
own
worth
due
to
a
situation.
We
have
seen
this
concept
a
few
times
in
Hindi
films
earlier.
So,
a
film
like
Sukhee,
which
has
a
very
regular
concept,
needed
a
strong
narration
and
that's
where
debutant
director
Sonal
Joshi
falters.
Sukhee
doesn't
have
interesting
scenes
that
would
keep
you
engaged
and
the
second
half
seems
to
be
stretched
too
much.
To
be
precise,
we
literally
just
laughed
once
in
the
film
and
felt
a
bit
emotional
in
a
scene,
and
unfortunately,
both
scenes
didn't
feature
Shilpa.
Also,
Amit
Sadh's
track
(though
he
is
very
good)
looks
forced
in
the
film
and
will
remind
you
of
Anuj
and
Anupamaa
(Yes,
you
read
it
right!).
Shilpa
Shetty,
as
we
said,
is
a
good
actress,
but
she
needs
to
be
very
choosy
when
it
comes
to
selecting
scripts
or
maybe
sadly
she
is
not
being
offered
good
ones.
Here
in
Sukhee,
she
is
good
in
her
part,
but
the
film
doesn't
do
justice
to
her
talent.
Chaitannya
Choudhry,
who
plays
Sukhee's
husband
in
the
film,
is
decent.
When
it
comes
to
supporting
actors,
it
is
Kusha
Kapila
who
steals
the
show
and
she
proves
that
not
just
comedy,
she
can
also
perform
dramatic
and
emotional
scenes
wonderfully.
Amit
Sadh
looks
charming
and
has
done
well
in
his
special
appearance.
Sukhee
falters
majorly
in
one
more
department
and
that
is
music.
Neither
the
songs
nor
the
background
score
are
impressive.
Also,
the
track
Nasha
in
which
Shilpa
showcases
her
dance
moves
looks
pale
and
the
actress'
dancing
talent
is
also
not
used
properly
here.
Overall,
Sukhee
is
a
film
with
a
done-and-dusted
concept
and
a
very
bland
narration.
So,
you
can
skip
this
one.
