Tiger 3 Review: In 2012, Kabir Khan's Ek Tha Tiger had hit the big screens. The movie starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif impressed one and all, and it was a super hit at the box office. YRF decided to make a sequel to the film titled Tiger Zinda Hai, and Ali Abbas Zafar directed the second part. Ek Tha Tiger and Tiger Zinda Hai, both movies were very well narrated and were amazing films. Now today, Tiger 3 has hit the big screens and Maneesh Sharma has directed the third instalment of the franchise. So, has he done justice to the Tiger franchise? Find out in our review below...

Tiger (Salman Khan) is not living in India, but he is always there to help his country. One day, he gets a mission to save Gopi (Ranvir Shorey) from a terrorist camp. After the mission, Gopi reveals something to Tiger that shocks him. On the other side, we have an ex-ISI agent, Aatish Rehman (Emraan Hashmi) who is planning something big which will affect Pakistan as well as India. How Tiger and Zoya (Katrina Kaif) plan to stop Aatish, forms the rest of the story...

The story of Tiger 3 written by Aditya Chopra is very interesting. The connection with the first instalment has been done wonderfully. But, the screenplay by Shridhar Raghavan and direction of Maneesh Sharma don't do justice to the amazing story that Chopra gave them.

The first half of the film is strictly average. There are hardly any scenes that will keep you engaged to the screens and make you keen to know what will happen next. In the trailer, we got a small glimpse of a Hammam fight sequence featuring Katrina and another actress. Even that sequence in the movie falls flat.

Tiger 3 becomes bit better in the second half. There are a couple of good action sequences. The Tiger-Pathaan sequence surely saves the second half of the film. After Pathaan, It's once again a treat to watch Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan together on the big screens, and the sequence is very well narrated.

Also, one more positive element about the movie is Salman and Katrina's chemistry. Not just in romantic scenes, but even when they are doing action, there's a magic that this jodi has, and it's a treat to watch them together on the big screens.

Performance wise, Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, both shine as Tiger and Zoya respectively. Tiger has been one of the most favourite characters played Salman, and the actor once again proves that only he can carry a role like this. Katrina might have received mixed response for her performances in multiple movies, but when it comes to playing Zoya, she is perfect. In Tiger 3, Katrina is damn good and surely steals the show. Also, the best part about Tiger franchise is that though the title has Tiger in it, Zoya's character stands equally tall with male lead.

Emraan Hashmi as the villain is quite good. But, his role doesn't offer anything great. It's just like the run-of-the-mill villains that we get to see in Bollywood films. Shah Rukh Khan as Pathaan leaves a mark and his scene is the highlight of the film.

Other supporting actors like Kumud Mishra, Revathi, Simran, Ridhi Dogra, Vishal Jethwa, Gavie Chahal, Anant Vidhaat Sharma, and Danish Bhat are good in their respective roles.

When it comes to music, the songs in the film are decent. Leke Prabhu Ka Naam is an end credit song like Swag Se Swagat.

Overall, Tiger 3 had the potential to be a fantastic film but because of the not-so-amazing screenplay and direction, the movie just turns out to be a decent watch. However, if you are a Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif fan, then it's a Must-Watch for you.
