Yaariyan 2 Review: Divya Khosla Kumar, Pearl V Puri And Meezaan Starrer Is A Cute-Sweet Musical Film

Yaariyan 2 Review: In 2014, a movie titled Yaariyan had hit the big screens. The film was directed by Divya Khosla Kumar and it was a hit at the box office. Now, after nine years, a spiritual sequel to the film titled Yaariyan 2 has been released. While Divya directed the first part, in the sequel she plays the lead role along with Pearl V Puri and Meezaan. So, is Yaariyan 2 worth a watch? Find out in our review below...

Yaariyan 2 is about Laadli (Divya), Baggu (Pearl), and Shikhar (Meezaan). They are cousins, but their bond is stronger than real siblings. The movie revolves around their bond with each other and how they also manage things in their love life.

The movie is an adaptation of Malayalam film Bangalore Days and as we have not watched the original movie, Yaariyan 2 was a fresh film for us. The screenplay and the narration are done by the director duo Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru. The filmmakers are known for their musicals like Lucky No Time For Love and Sanam Teri Kasam.

Their narration style is that through songs they take their movies forward, and they have used that technique here as well. Yaariyan 2 is filled with songs every 10 minutes. But still, it doesn't bore you. The first half of the film is very interesting and there are some really cute scenes that will make you laugh and get a smile on your face.

In the second half, the movie becomes a bit slow and it mainly concentrates on the emotional journey of the characters. The flashback of Abhay (Yash Dasgupta's) character will surely make your eyes moist, and finally the climax will put a smile on your face once again.

Performance-wise, Divya Khosla Kumar is a surprise here. She has improved as an actor and has performed her role of Laadli very well. She gets the perfect Bubbliness that her role requires. Pearl V Puri has been given a sweet role and the movie will be a treat for his fans. Meezaan has also done a good job, but he could have been better.

Apart from these three main leads, the film also has a strong supporting cast. Yash Dasgupta looks dashing in the film and has performed really well. Anaswara Rajan leaves a very strong mark with her performance and she looks damn pretty in the film. Warina Hussain is strictly okay and Priya Prakash Varrier is wasted. Veteran actor Murali Sharma has been given a very good role, and he is excellent in it.

When it comes to music, well the movie has some really good songs and even a few recreated versions. However, the recreated versions are good and to be honest, music is one of the strongest elements of the film.

Overall, Yaariyan 2 is a sweet-cute musical film. If you're a Divya Khosla Kumar and Pearl V Puri fan then it's a Must-Watch for you.
