Bad Cop Review: There's no doubt that Anurag Kashyap is a very good director, but he is undoubtedly a better actor. So, when we came to know that we will get to watch him in a web series titled Bad Cop, we were very excited about it. The series also stars Gulshan Devaiah, Harleen Sethi, Saurabh Sachdeva, and Aishwarya Sushmita. So, is it worth a watch? Find out in our review below...

The Disney+ Hotstar's series is about twin brothers Karan (cop) and Arjun (a small-time con man). One day, both reach a location and a shootout takes place in which Karan dies and Arjun then takes his place, and is keen to know who killed his brother and why. What happens next, forms the rest of the story...

The series is an adaptation of German television show Bad Cop - kriminell gut. The screenplay is adapted by Rensil D'Silva and Aditya Datt has directed it. The series starts on a very interesting note and the first two episodes are super entertaining. It is like watching a thriller movie. But, further in the third episode, the series dip and the pace becomes quite slow. However, only to get better in the fourth, fifth, and sixth episodes.

Aditya has directed the series just like a movie. Every episode ends on an intriguing note making us eager to watch the next one. The basic concept of the show is not new as we have watched such films earlier about twins. But, what works here is Rensil D'Silva's screenplay and Aditya Datt's direction. It has been very well adapted keeping the Indian audience in mind.

Bad Cop Actors' Performances

As we said, in the first sentence itself, Anurag Kashyap is a very good director, but he is a better actor. Kashyap as the antagonist Kazbe is simply amazing. The role suits him perfectly and clearly he has nailed it. After Kashyap, it is Harleen Sethi that steals the show. She has been given a very strong character and the actress has done justice to it. Gulshan Devaiah as Karan and Arjun is damn good. Watching him in a series like this is a treat as we get to watch him in a proper heroic role here. Saurabh Sachdeva impresses as CIB officer and Aishwarya Sushmita is also good in her role.

Bad Cop Review Final Verdict

Overall, Bad Cop is surely an entertaining series and though in some parts it does become quite slow, it will still keep you intrigued. So, you can watch it once on Disney+ Hotstar.

Note: Bad Cop is an eight episode series, and this review is on the basis of six episodes.
