Bad Newz Review: After being delayed multiple times, finally, Dharma Productions' Bad Newz starring Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, and Ammy Virk has hit the big screens today. The trailer of the film had grabbed everyone's attention and the song Tauba Tauba just created a perfect hype for the movie. But, was the hype worth it? Find out in our review below...

The movie is about Akhil (Vicky Kaushal), a typical Delhi ka launda (it will remind you of Rocky Randhawa) who falls in love with Saloni (Triptii Dimri), a chef who dreams to get a Meraki star. They get married, but things don't go as planned and the couple gets divorced. Saloni starts working at a hotel in Mussoorie and there she meets Gurbir (Ammy Virk). One night something happens and Saloni has s*x with Gurbir and Akhil both, and after a few weeks she comes to know she is pregnant. The twist is that both of them are the fathers of the babies in her womb because of heteropaternal superfecundation. Now, who will get the babies and the girl, forms the rest of the story...

When we talk about the basic concept, Bad Newz surely has something new to offer, but it just becomes the run-of-mill comedy about two guys trying to impress a girl. The movie starts on a decent note and in the first half there are some funny moments. But, in the second half, it becomes a bit boring and looks stretched, before picking up again during the emotional climax.

The story had potential to be converted into a hilarious film, but that doesn't happen especially in the second half. First half surely has some scenes that will make you laugh out loud. Also, this is not a sequel or a franchise film, but as it is produced by Karan Johar and revolves around pregnancy, the audience will compare it with Good Newz which was a fantastic movie.

Bad Newz Actors' Performances

One thing that makes Bad Newz a Good News is the performances of the lead actors. Firstly, Vicky Kaushal is looking extremely hot in the film. He fits the Rocky Randhawa type of a character perfectly and his comic timing is fantastic. Ammy Virk has performed really, and has scenes where he shines. What makes Ammy stand out is that even with a straight face, he will say a dialogue and make you laugh!

We didn't get to see much of Triptii Dimri in the trailer, so a lot of people assumed that maybe she is just there for some glamour. But, wait till you watch the film. Triptii has a very strong role to play and she has done justice to the character. There are scenes that will make you sit back and just watch her amazing performance. One thing that also impresses us a lot in the film is the sizzling chemistry between Vicky and Triptii.

Neha Dhupia is fine in her extended cameo. In fact, we wish she had a better role as she plays an interesting character. Sheeba Chaddha is also good in her part.

The movie has two cameos, Ananya Panday and Neha Sharma. Both the actresses are looking gorgeous in the film, and do leave a mark with their respective acts.

Bad Newz Music

One department the film gets full marks is the music. The songs in the film are damn good, and we all know Tauba Tauba is already a chartbuster. But yes, the background score could have been better at a few places.

Bad Newz Review Final Verdict

Overall, Bad Newz is a film that offers something new when it comes to concept. But, a better direction would have made the film amazing. However, the performances of the lead actors save the movie.
