Bandish Bandits Season 2 Review: Ritwik Bhowmik, Shreya Chaudhary & Sheeba Chaddha Starrer Is A Musical Treat

Bandish Bandits Season 2 Review: Finally, the wait is over! Bandish Bandits season 1 came in 2020, and everyone has been waiting for season 2 of the series which has started streaming on Amazon Prime Video. While Ritwik Bhowmik, Shreya Chaudhary, Sheeba Chaddha, Atul Kulkarni, and Rajesh Tailang are back in season 2, there are some additions to the cast also like Divya Dutta, Yashaswini Dayama, Rohan Gurbaxani, and Aaliyah Qureishi. Well, Bandish Bandits season 1 had received a fantastic response. So, is season 2 worth a binge-watch? Find out in our review below...
Season 2 starts three months after Radhe (Ritwik Bhowmik) becomes Sangeet Samrat and Tamanna decides to learn music from the scratch. Panditji (Naseeruddin Shah) passes away and Radhe wants to take the Gharana forward. But, one incident changes everything and the name of the Gharana gets ruin. On the other side, we have Shreya, who has enrolled into a music school, and she gets a chance to be a part of a band in it. IBC (India Band Championship), a music reality show has come to India, and now, Shreya's band as well as Radhe's Gharana band takes part in it. Now, these ex-lovers are back together in a reality show, but this time against each other. So, what will happen next? Well, watch the series to know that...
Bandish Bandits season 1 grabbed everyone's attention because of multiple reasons. One of the major reasons was that it offered Indian audiences something new. A musical OTT series which celebrates the classical music and also fusions it with the contemporary music. Clearly, the highlight of the series was the songs which were composed by Shankar Ehsaan Loy.
Now, in season 2, the songs are composed by multiple composers like Meghdeep Bose, Siddharth Pandit, Amit Sharma, Ana Rehman, Prithvi Gandharv, OAFF & Savera, Souumil and Siddharth, DigV, and of coruse Shankar Ehsaan Loy. Well, even the hihgight of the season 2 is the music. All the songs are excellent and after watching the series, the first thing that you are going to do is, just listen to the jukebox of the show.
If we talk about the story, the basic concept is quite genric about a reality show and then the exes being pitted against each other. But, it is Anand Tiwari's amazing direction that makes this generic concept a super entertaining and engaging series. It is surely not easy to make a musical which has multiple genres of music in it.
Many season 2 and season 3 of shows fail to impress us, but that doesn't happen with Bandish Bandits season 2. Yes, there are a couple of episodes that are too long and maybe a few scenes being editted would be good. However, other than that we don't have any complains from the show.
Bandish Bandits Season 2 Review - Performances
Ritwik Bhowmik and Shreya Chaudhary once again impress us with their performance in the show, and they are very good in their respective roles. But, this season belongs to other actors as well. Sheeba Chaddha grabs our attention the most with her amazing performance in the series. Rajesh Tailang is excellent in the series; (a small spoiler) watch out for his rock performance in the show.
Yashaswini Dayama and Rohan Gurbaxani, the two new entry in the series surely steal the show with their performance. Divya Dutta once again proves that why we call her one of the most talented actresses in the industry. Aaliyah Qureishi leaves a strong mark with her performance, and Atul Kulkarni is good in his part. Even Kunaal Roy Kapur and Paresh Pahuja are very good in their respective roles.
Bandish Bandits Season 2 Review -Final Verdict
Overall, Bandish Bandits season 2 is a musical treat with some fantastic performances. So, it should surely be on your binge-watch list.
P.S. There's a hot cameo in the series as well...
