Bhakshak
Review:
Last
year,
we
watched
a
movie
on
OTT
titled
Sirf
Ek
bandaa
Kaafi
Hai,
and
it
left
a
strong
impact.
The
movie
was
inspired
by
a
real
life
incident
where
a
self-proclaimed
godman
was
accused
for
the
sexual
harassment
of
a
minor.
Now,
this
year,
we
have
Bhumi
Pednekar
starrer
Bhakshak
which
has
started
streaming
on
Netflix,
and
this
movie
will
also
surely
leave
a
strong
impact
on
the
audience's
mind.
Bhakshal
is
about
Vaishali
(Bhumi
Pednekar),
a
journalist,
who
owns
a
news
channel
named
Koshish
News.
One
day,
she
gets
a
report
from
a
source
which
claims
that
minor
girls
in
an
orphanage
are
being
sexually
abused.
How
Vaishali,
along
with
her
camera
Baskar
(Sanjay
Mishra)
tries
to
save
the
girls
through
her
reporting,
forms
the
rest
of
the
story...
The
movie
is
written
by
Pulkit
and
Jyotsana
Nath,
and
the
former
has
also
directed
it.
Well,
first
thing
that
we
would
like
to
say
is
that
if
you
are
faint-hearted
and
child
sexual
abuse
triggers
you
and
affects
your
mental
health,
then
this
movie
is
not
for
you.
It's
a
very
dark
and
disturbing
film,
narrated
in
a
very
realistic
maner.
The
story,
screenplay,
and
the
narration
is
very
realistic.
Pulkit
has
not
taken
the
filmy
route
here,
he
has
directed
the
film
in
a
very
dark
and
gritty
manner.
After
a
very
gory
start,
Bhakshak
does
take
time
to
build
up
the
story
line,
but
once
it
does,
it
keeps
us
hooked
till
the
end.
The
movie
has
scenes
that
are
surely
difficult
to
watch
and
at
the
end
there
will
be
tears
in
your
eyes
as
it
questions
the
humanity
in
us.
Bhumi
Pednekar
Shines
In
Bhakshak
Bhakshak
required
a
fantastic
cast,
and
each
and
every
actor
has
done
a
great
job.
Bhumi
Pednekar
has
delivered
an
excellent
performance
in
the
movie.
After
a
very
long
time,
we
have
got
to
watch
her
in
a
role
that
does
justice
to
her
talent.
Wonderful
Performance
by
her!
Sanjay
Mishra
as
Bhaskar
is
simply
fantastic
and
the
CID
actor
Aditya
Srivastava
will
surprised
you
with
his
antagonist
act;
you
will
start
hating
him
while
watching
the
film.
Sai
Tamhankar
leaves
a
strong
mark
with
her
performance
as
SSP
Jameet
Gaur.
Overall,
Bhakshak
is
a
disturbing
film,
but
it's
very
though
provoking.
It's
clearly
one
of
the
bravest
film
produced
by
Shah
Rukh
Khan
under
his
Red
Chillies
Entertainment.
