Review:
From
the
day,
Vidyut
Jammwal
starrer
Crakk
was
announced
everyone
was
very
excited
about
the
film
as
it
was
called
India's
first
extreme
sports
action
movie.
While
we
have
seen
many
sports
based
movies,
extreme
sports
action
is
surely
something
the
Indian
audience
will
get
to
watch
in
a
Bollywood
movie
for
the
first
time.
Finally,
Crakk
has
hit
the
big
screens
today.
So,
is
it
worth
your
time
and
money?
Find
out
in
our
review
below...
Crakk
is
about
Siddhu
(Vidyut
Jammwal)
who
comes
from
a
slum
area
in
Mumbai,
and
he
dreams
to
go
to
Maidaan,
an
underground
extreme
sports
championship
headed
by
Dev
(Arjun
Rampal).
Siddhu
gets
a
chance
to
participate
in
Maidaan,
but
once
he
reaches
there,
he
comes
to
know
about
the
wrong
things
that
Dev
is
doing.
So,
will
Siddhu
be
able
to
win
the
championship
and
will
Dev
be
able
to
complete
his
evil
plan
successfully?
Well,
these
things
form
the
rest
of
the
story...
The
movie
is
written
by
Aditya
Datt,
Rehan
Khan,
Sarim
Momin,
and
Mohinder
Pratab
Singh,
and
it
is
directed
by
Datt.
The
basic
concept
of
the
film
is
interesting
because
the
genre
of
extreme
sports
is
not
explored
in
Bollywood
earlier.
However,
writers
and
director,
have
failed
to
convert
this
good
concept
into
a
good
film.
The
screenplay
and
the
narration
are
very
weak.
In
the
first
half,
apart
from
one
action
sequence
(Race
1),
there's
nothing
that
impresses
us.
Just
those
10-15
minutes
of
the
stunt
keeps
us
hooked
to
the
screens.
The
same
thing
happens
in
the
second
half.
There
are
two
major
action
sequneces
where
the
extreme
sports
take
place
and
just
those
sequences
are
engaging.
If
we
are
watching
a
movie
with
the
runtime
of
around
2
hours
36
minutes,
we
cannot
be
just
entertained
for
45
minutes.
What
about
the
other
111
minutes?
Also,
the
movie
will
remind
you
of
Imran
Khan
and
Sanjay
Dutt
starrer
Luck
at
certian
points.
One
thing
that
impresses
the
most
in
the
film
is
the
cinematography
done
by
Mark
Hamilton.
His
camera
work
is
very
effective
in
many
scenes.
Crakk
Actors'
Performances
Performance
wise,
Vidyut
Jammwal
has
done
a
good
job.
He
perfectly
fits
the
part
of
a
guy
who
is
passionate
about
extreme
sports,
and
he
gets
the
Mumbai
tapori
accent
also
very
well.
Arjun
Rampal
as
the
bad
guy
is
decent
in
his
role;
we
have
seen
him
giving
better
performances.
Nora
Fatehi
has
good
screen
time,
but
she
doesn't
have
a
strong
role
to
portray.
Also,
a
movie
featuring
Nora,
without
a
dance
number;
audience
might
feel
cheated.
Amy
Jackson
who
makes
her
Bollywood
comeback
with
Crakk
is
okay
in
her
role.
Overall,
Crakk
had
potential
to
be
better
if
there
were
more
extreme
sports
action
sequences
included
in
it.
But,
this
one
just
turns
out
to
be
a
below
average
big
screen
experience.
