CTRL Review: Watch Ananya Panday's Call Me Bae On Amazon Prime Video Instead Of This Netflix Film

CTRL Review: Ananya Panday surprised one and all with her amazing performance in Amazon Prime Video's Call Me Bae which was released a couple of weeks ago. So, we were quite excited to watch her again in Netflix's film CTRL which is directed by Vikramaditya Motwane who has helmed some wonderful films like Udaan, Lootera, Trapped, and others. Even the trailer of CTRL was quite interesting. So, is the film worth your time? Find out in our review below...
Nella (Ananya Panday) and Joe (Vihaan Samat) are collage buddies and they fall in love with each other. They start their own community channel in which they make different kind of videos, and are one of the most loved couples on social media. However, Joe cheats on Nella which is revealed on a live, and then of course, they breakup. Trolling happens, but Nella comes through a website about ctrl.ai in which AI helps us in doing whatever we want. Nella decides to erase Joe digitally from her life using the website, and what happens next forms the rest of the story...
The story of the film written by Avinash Sampath is super interesting and connects with us at many points as we see how social media and AI has taken over the lives of the people. But, the weak screenplay and narration are the big hurdles here. The movie starts on an interesting note, but fails to keeps us hooked throughout.
This could have been an intriguing watch, and we had high expectations from Vikramaditya Motwane, but he fails to deliver what we expected from him. This movie clearly proves that how a good concept has been totally wasted.
CTRL Actors' Performances
After Call Me Bae, Ananya Panday has once again gives an impressive performance. But, the film is weak, so at some point you will feel like it doesn't do justice to her talent. Vihaan Samrat is good in his part, but he doesn't have much to do. Aparsahkti Khurana as the AI Allen voice surely leaves an impact.
CTRL Review Final Verdict
Overall, CTRL had the potential to a fantastic film, but it doesn't turns out to be a below average movie about AI and social media. So, we would suggest instead of watching this Netflix film, watch Ananya Panday's Call Me Bae on Amazon Prime Video.
