Killer
Soup
Review:
Manoj
Bajpayee
and
Konkona
Sensharma
are
two
of
the
most
talented
actors
that
we
have
in
the
industry.
But,
the
surprising
part
is
that
till
now,
the
two
had
not
worked
with
each
other.
Now,
for
the
first
time,
Manoj
and
Konkona
have
teamed
up
for
a
series
titled
Killer
Soup
which
is
directed
by
Abhishek
Chaubey.
When
you
have
a
series
made
by
a
filmmaker
like
Abhishek,
starring
Manoj
and
Konkona,
the
expectations
from
it
are
quite
high.
So,
is
Killer
Soup
worth
a
binge-watch?
Find
out
in
our
review
below...
Killer
Soup
is
about
Swathi
(Konkona)
who
is
living
a
happy
life
with
her
husband
Prabhakar
(Manoj
Bajpayee).
She
dreams
of
having
her
own
restaurant,
and
loves
to
cook
paya
soup.
Now,
a
twist
happens
when
a
lookalike
of
Prabhakar,
named
Umesh,
comes
into
the
scene.
Umesh
and
Swathi
are
having
an
affair,
and
Prabhakar
comes
to
know
about
it.
What
happens
next
and
how
lives
of
Umesh,
Prabhakar,
and
Swathi
take
a
turn,
forms
the
rest
of
the
story...
The
series
is
written
by
Abhishek
Chaubey,
Unaiza
Merchant,
Harshad
Nalawade,
and
Anant
Tripathi,
and
Chaubey
has
directed
it.
Now,
when
you
decide
to
make
an
eight
episode
series
where
each
episode
is
of
around
45-50
minutes,
you
have
to
have
the
content
that
keeps
the
audiences
hooked
throughout.
While
Killer
Soup
starts
(first
episode)
on
an
very
interesting
note,
further
it
starts
dipping
a
bit.
All
the
episodes
end
on
a
very
intriguing
note,
making
us
curious
to
know
what
will
happen
in
the
next
episode.
The
new
episode
also
take
a
good
start,
but
then
the
slow
pace
surely
makes
the
taste
of
this
series
a
bit
sour,
making
us
feel
like
'let's
use
that
10
seconds
forward
mark,
and
reach
at
the
end
of
the
episode'.
Abhishek
Chaubey
is
known
for
making
thrillers
with
a
touch
of
dark
humour
in
it,
and
that's
there
in
Killer
Soup
as
well.
There
are
a
few
scenes
that
will
surely
make
you
laugh,
and
the
humour
is
actually
something
you
look
forward
to
watch
more
in
the
series.
As
the
series
has
ups
and
downs,
it
is
Konkona
Sensharma's
brilliant
performance
that
saves
the
downs.
There's
no
doubt
that
Manoj
Bajpyee
is
an
excellent
actor
and
once
again
he
has
performed
fantastically
in
Killer
Soup.
But,
this
series
belongs
with
Konkona;
she
has
nailed
it
as
Swathi.
Even
though
her
character
has
grey
shades,
you
will
root
for
Swathi
as
the
actress
has
performed
exceptionally.
While
Manoj
and
Konkona
take
the
lead,
the
series
also
has
a
very
styrong
supporting
cast.
Veteran
actor
Nassar
has
done
a
great
job,
Anula
Navleker
leaves
a
mark,
Kani
Kusruti
is
damn
good,
and
Sayaji
Shinde
is
excellent.
The
music
in
the
series
is
decent,
and
we
love
it
whenever
Tu

Bombay
starts
playing
in
Killer
Soup.
Overall,
Killer
Soup
might
not
be
the
best
series
that
you
will
watch
this
year,
but
it's
not
a
bad
one.
You
can
surely
taste
it
once
especially
for
the
mind-blowing
performance
of
Konkona
Sensharma.
