Pushpa 2 Review: In 2021, a Telugu film titled Pushpa: The Rise starting Allu Arjun in the lead role was released and while it took the box office by the storm in its home language, the movie also created a buzz with its dubbed versions especially Hindi. The movie ended at a point that there will be a sequel titled Pushpa 2: The Rule. For the past three years, we all have been eagerly waiting for Pushpa 2 and finally our wait has come to an end. So, was the wait worth? Well, the answer is a BIG YES!

Pushpa (Allu Arjun) is no more just a national smuggler, but he has now gone international with red sandalwood smuggling. He is ruling Chittoor and is like a God for the people of his city. One day, he gets a huge deal to smuggle 2000 tons of red sandalwood, but SSP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat (Fahadh Faasil) is a hurdle for him. Will Pushpa's rule continue or Shekhawat will win this time? Well, watch the movie to know that.

Sukumar with Pushpa Part 1 gave the audience a masala entertainer which had good action, amazing songs, fantastic performances and seetimaar dialogues. The expectations from Pushpa 2 were super high and well, the movie lives up to the expectations and when it comes to action, it actually surpasses the expectations.

There are 2 major action sequences and they are undoubtedly the highlight of the film. The way the action sequences have been shot and choreographed, they take the mass element to a totally different level. Even the confrontation sequences between Pushpa and Shekhawat are fantastically written and directed. There will be claps, hooting and seetis in the theatres for sure. Hats off to Sukumar!

The only negative point in the film is that the movie is clearly shown to be set in Andhra Pradesh, but in the Hindi dubbed version, Pushpa is seen speaking in Marathi accent. In fact, the character uses a few Marathi words as well. The makers should have kept the character as a South Indian speaking in Hindi and not make it into a Maharashtrian character because that doesn't gel with the backdrop of the character. However, we would like to point out that the Hindi dialogues have been written very smartly as the lip-sync matches very well. So, you don't feel that you are actually watching a dubbed movie.

Pushpa 2 Review - Actors' Performances

Allu Arjun is excellent in the film and we won't be surprised if he once again takes a National Award for his performance as Pushparaj. While of course we get to see the powerful Pushpa in the film, Sukumar this time has also shown his vulnerable side and Allu Arjun has nailed it. The scene, which we get to watch in a teaser, where Pushpa is dressed in a saree, is undoubtedly the highlight of the film, and Allu Arjun is simply WOW in it. Just give him a National Award for that 30 mins performance!

While of course Allu Arjun as Pushpa shines, Fahadh Faasil as Shekhawat is the heart of the film. He has been given some of the best scenes in the movie and he has done it fantastically. There are some scenes where you won't be able to take your eyes off Faasil because he is just exceptional in them.

Rashmika Mandanna as Srivalli is good in her role, and she has also been given one of the most important scenes in the film in which the actress leaves a mark. Other supporting actors are good in their respective roles, but Rao Ramesh and Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari grab our attention the most.

Pushpa 2 Review - Music

We still dance to the song O Antava, so the expectations from the music of Pushpa 2 were also quite high. Angaron Sa surely grabs our attention, and it comes at a very crucial point in the film. However, Kissik doesn't impress much, and even though Sreeleela has tried her best, we miss Samantha.

Pushpa 2 Review Final Verdict

Overall, Sukumar and Allu Arjun deliver more than what we expected from Pushpa 2. It is a Baap of Mass Entertainers and as Pushparaj says, "Pushpa Naam Sunke Flower Samjhe Kya, Wild Fire Hai Main..."
