Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya Review: Shahid Kapoor-Kriti Sanon Starrer Is 'Impossible To Watch'

Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya Review: In 2010, Shankar had directed a film titled Robot which starred Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead roles. The movie was about what happens when a robot starts getting feelings like humans, and he falls in love with a girl. Now, cut to 2024, we have Tere Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, a movie that talks about humans, robots, and love. But, is this Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon starrer worth a watch? Find out in our review below...
Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya is about Aryan (Shahid Kapoor) who is a robotics engineer. His maasi Urmila (Dimple Kapadia) has a huge robotics company and she calls him to the US for a project. There he meets Sifra (Kriti Sanon), Urmila's manager. The two young people meet, roam around, dance to peppy romantic track and even have sex. Soon, Aryan comes to know that Sifra is a robot, but he has already fallen in love with her. So, will this love story between a Robot and a Human have a happy ending?
The movie is written and directed by Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah, and while the basic concept of the film is fresh and quite interesting, the screenplay and narration is all over the place. The first half is quite dull and apart from a couple scenes, there's nothing that will make you laugh. The scenes look stretched and are not at all engaging.
In the second half, the movie picks up a bit, but still it is not a super entertaining watch. The runtime of the film is around 2 hours 23 minutes, and it is only the last 30 minutes of the movie that actually impresses us. Amit and Aradhana have put their best for the climax, but when the whole film is a bumpy ride, just showing a fantastic climax doesn't work.
Kriti Sanon Steals The Show In Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya
When it comes to performances, Kriti Sanon steals the show. She is looking gorgeous throughout the film and has done a wonderful job as Sifra. The last 30 minutes that we are talking about also works because Kriti has delivered an amazing act during the climax. Shahid Kapoor has performed very well as Aryan and it is a treat to watch him as a soft lover boy on the big screens after a very long time. One of the highlights of the film is the chemistry between Shahid and Kriti; it is just wow!
Supporting cast do get a chance to shine, but we feel maybe the filmmakers would have utilized them more, especially Dharmendra sir. We got to watch him last year in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, and if we compare both the characters, it clearly feels like he has been wasted in this one. Dimple Kapadia ma'am looks wonderful in the movie, and leaves a mark with her performance.
One department that the film gets the full marks in is music. Tanishk Bagchi, Mitraz, Sachin-Jigar, and Raghav have done a great job with the songs.
Overall, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya had the potential to be a great film, but it just turned out to be a below average movie. A great concept gone wasted!
