The Buckingham Murders Review: Kareena Kapoor Khan is mainly known for doing rom-coms and showcasing glamorous avatars in the movies. But, with films like Chameli, Dev, Omkara, Jaane Jaan, she has proved that she can shed her glamorous avatar and carry an intense, dramatic film on her shoulders. After a tragic incident, Jass (Kareena Kapoor Khan), a Detective Sergeant, is transferred to Buckingham and the day she joins, she gets a case of a missing boy. Soon, they come to know that the boy has been killed. There are many suspects and while at a point it seems like the case is solved, there's more to it. So, how Jass solves this murder case forms the rest of the story...

The Buckingham Murders is written by Aseem Arrora, Raghav Raj Kakker, and Kashyap Kapoor, and it is directed by Hansal Mehta. A Whodunit thriller should always make us think hard whether who is the murderer, and here too that happens. But, the slow pace of the film is clearly a big hurdle.

The first half of the movie has a couple of scenes that keep us on the edge of the seat, but other than that, there's nothing great. The second half is better but soon it becomes predictable and the way the murderer is revealed that scenes too don't create much impact. When you make a Whodunit thriller, the climax should shock one and all, but that doesn't happen here. However, Mehta has got the emotional quotient right in the movie.

The songs in the film are strictly average. But, what works here is the background score; such thrillers require a strong background music that helps the film, and that happens here.

The Buckingham Murders is a kind of a film which goes a notch higher because of the lead actor's performance. Kareena Kapoor Khan is simply excellent in the film. The actress has clearly given one of the best performances of her career proving that if she can do a Crew, and she can also carry The Buckingham Murders.

While Kareena takes the lead, the supporting actors are also good in their respective roles. The one actor who grabs the attention the most is Ranveer Brar. Yes, we know him as a chef but he is undoubtedly a good actor.

Overall, The Buckingham Murders is good in bits and parts, but it is Kareena Kapoor Khan's amazing performance that takes the film a notch higher. A Must Watch For All The Kareena Fans!
