Chhava Movie Review: Vicky Kaushal Delivers A Strong Performance But Akshaye Khanna Is The True Scene-Stealer

Chhaava Film Review: Amid a huge buzz and high expectations, Bollywood star Vicky Kaushal is finally back to entertain fans with his much-hyped film Chhaava. The historical action drama is counted among the most-anticipated films of the year and moviegoers have been eagerly awaiting its theatrical release.
Co-starring Rashmika Mandanna and Akshaye Khanna among others in important characters, Chhaava has been making headlines ever since the makers unveiled its trailer. The film marks Vicky's second collaboration with Maddock Films after the success of Zara Hatke Zara Bachke and moviegoers have been eager to watch it on the big screen.
Just like them, even I was equally kicked about Chhaava and just watched its press show. Well, let's analyze the movie.
CHHAVA PLOT REVIEW
The film begins with the Mughal empire rejoicing, convinced that their most formidable adversary has fallen-Shivaji Maharaj is no more. Aurangzeb and his court celebrate what they see as the Maratha kingdom's downfall. However, their victory is short-lived. Just as they believe the threat is over, a new force rises-Shivaji Maharaj's son, Sambhaji Maharaj, steps forward, proving to be an even more formidable challenge to the empire.
Despite his short life, Sambhaji Maharaj was an undefeated warrior in every battle he fought. Just when he was on the verge of eliminating Aurangzeb, betrayal from his own people led to his capture and a brutal end at the hands of the Mughals.
CHHAVA ACTING REVIEW
Vicky Kaushal stands out as the heart of Chhaava. Every time he appears on screen, he delivers a performance packed with intensity and dedication. Rashmika Mandanna, playing Sambhaji Maharaj's wife, shows improvement in her expressions, but her dialogue delivery still needs work.
Ashutosh Rana gives his role a powerful presence, adding weight to the film. Diana Penty plays Aurangzeb's daughter, but her role is minimal and doesn't contribute much.
The true scene-stealer, however, is Akshaye Khanna as Aurangzeb. Despite having fewer dialogues, his mere presence elevates the film. His portrayal exudes power, making him the surprise standout of the movie.
CHHAVA OVERALL VERDICT
Chhaava is a decent historic drama with a mix of emotions, history, drama, and action. Vicky Kaushal delivered a strong performance and is the strongest pillar of the movie along with Akshaye Khanna.
