Mere Husband Ki Biwi Movie Review: Arjun Kapoor Starrer Is Just Another Forgettable, Boring Quirky Comedy

Mere Husband Ki Biwi Movie Review

2.5/5

Mere Husband Ki Biwi Movie Review: After the huge success of Vicky Kaushal starrer Chhava last week, Bollywood is witnessing the release of a romantic-comedy this week - Mere Husband Ki Biwi. The film has failed to create a good pre-release buzz, however, a section of moviegoers are looking forward to watching the Arjun Kapoor starrer rom-com.

Starring Rakul Preet Singh and Bhumi Pednekar as the leading ladies opposite Arjun Kapoor, Mere Husband Ki Biwi has been directed by Mudassar Aziz who is known for helming films like Pati Patni Aur Woh, Happy Bhaag Jayegi, and Khel Khel Mein among others. Just like his previous movies, this too is touted as a quirky drama and has finally hit the theatres today (February 21).

Did Mere Husband Ki Biwi succeed in entertaining fans? Well, let's find out in this spoiler-free review.

MERE HUSBAND KI BIWI PLOT REVIEW

Set against the vibrant backdrop of Delhi, Mere Husband Ki Biwi brings a comical twist to a love triangle filled with unexpected turns. Arjun Kapoor takes on the role of Ankur, whose life spirals into chaos when his ex-wife, Prabhleen (played by Bhumi Pednekar), re-enters the picture under unusual circumstances. Suffering from retrograde amnesia, Prabhleen forgets their divorce and continues to believe she's still married to Ankur.

However, things get trickier as Ankur has already moved on and is engaged to Antara, portrayed by Rakul Preet Singh. What follows is a rollercoaster of emotions, confusion, and humor as Ankur struggles to juggle his present and forgotten past.

The film tries to serve as a light-hearted quirky comedy but ends up being just another forgettable addition to the genre. With basic laughs and predictable jokes, it struggles to offer anything fresh.

MERE HUSBAND KI BIWI ACTING REVIEW

Arjun Kapoor brings back his 2 States vibes with his cute, in-love avatar but falters during more complex, situational moments. Rakul Preet Singh, despite her charm, delivers an average performance that doesn't add much to the film. Bhumi Pednekar stands out for taking on a role that's different from her usual choices, offering a slight breath of fresh air, though it's not enough to elevate the film entirely.

Aditya Seal, unfortunately, feels more like a background prop than an essential character, adding little to the narrative. However, comedian Harsh Gujral is a pleasant surprise-his witty lines and sharp comic timing bring much-needed energy to the film, making him one of the few reasons to stick around till the end.

MERE HUSBAND KI BIWI OVERALL VERDICT

Overall, Mere Husband Ki Biwi has its moments but never really finds its footing, leaving you with a few chuckles but nothing memorable.
