OMG 2 Teaser In Trouble? Akshay Kumar's Old VIDEO Talking About ‘Wasting Oil & Milk On Gods' Goes Viral

Akshay Kumar: Khiladi Kumar, aka Akshay Kumar, is back again with another film, OMG 2. The teaser of the film was dropped yesterday, and it also features Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam in pivotal roles.

The teaser and Akshya's Lord Shiva look have already created immense buzz among the audience, but hours later, an old video of the actor making a statement on gods and some religious practises has resurfaced online, creating a stir.

Akshay Kumar's old video talking about 'wasting oil & milk goes viral'

While fans have been eagerly waiting to witness magic on screen after the teaser for OMG 2 was released, an old video of the star's comment about "wasting oil and milk on Gods" has gone viral.

In the video, he can be seen questioning some Hindu religious practises of offering food items like oil and milk. He also said people should be more careful and considerate towards other people and 'stop wasting so much oil and milk on Gods.' He added that instead of doing this, offer that extra food to farmers who are dying of hunger and lack of money.

Speaking to Marathi news channel ABP Majha in the past, Akshay had said, "Why are you wasting so much oil and milk on God? Where is it written that God says, 'Mujhe doodh dena and Hanuman saying mere ko tel daal.' I don't understand why people are wasting so much. At the same time we say that farmers are dying due to less food and money, so give it to them instead. I go to temples and there's so much waste."

Well, now that this video has gone viral on the internet, it remains to be seen how people react to it and if it will bring any trouble to the film, given the polarising atmosphere in the country.

Talking about OMG 2, it is a sequel to the 2012 film OMG: Oh My God! It also starred Paresh Rawal. Helmed by Amit Rai, OMG 2 is set to hit theatres on August 11 and will be facing tough competition from Sunny Deol's Gadar 2 and Superstar Rajinikanth's Jailer.
