PM Modi Comforts Team India: Following the loss in the final of the 2023 ODI World Cup to Australia by 6 wickets on Sunday, the devastated players had a social visitor to boost their morale in the form of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Modi, who witnessed the match in Ahmedabad, visited the dressing room and went ahead to uplift the spirits of the Indian cricket team, including captain Rohit Sharma and star batter Virat Kohli, after their defeat, which marked the end of India's impressive run in the tournament held at home.

In a video shared by news agency ANI, PM Narendra Modi consoled the Men in Blue inside the dressing room, who, in spite of their brave efforts on the pitch, lost the coveted trophy to Australia.

He was also seen speaking to skipper Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, patting their backs. We can also hear him advise them that they had put in an excellent run in the tournament and should not be disheartened. The PM also spoke to veteran player Rahul Dravid, who is the head coach of Team India.

Minister of Home Affairs of India, Amit Shah, had also accompanied PM Modi in the dressing room at the Narendra Modi Stadium, which hosted the final battle on November 19.

Speaking to Rohit and Virat, the PM said, "Aap log pura 10-10 game jeet ke aaye ho, ye to hota rehta." He then also asked the Indian captain to smile a little, as the whole nation was watching him.

In the 2-minute clip, the Prime Minister called out the name of Indian pacer Mohammed Shami, said that he had performed well in the tournament, and pulled him for a warm hug.
