Cases
with
the
issue
of
hurting
religious
sentiments
have
increased
in
the
country
significantly.
Doordarshan's
iconic
show
Ramayan
is
everybody's
favourite
and
depicts
the
nation's
culture.
In
one
incident,
a
popular
restro
bar
in
Noida
played
a
dubbed
version
of
Ramayana,
showing
the
conversation
between
Lord
Rama
and
Ravana
from
Ramayana.
A
leaked
video
from
the
bar
shows
young
people
dancing
to
the
beats
of
the
DJ
while
the
show
plays
on
a
large
screen.
The
incident
occurred
in
Garden
Galleria,
and
the
club
is
reportedly
called
Lord
of
the
Drinks,
according
to
some
reports.
The
video
has
been
doing
the
rounds
on
the
internet.
CASE
AGAINST
THE
PUB
OWNER
Meanwhile,
the
owner
and
manager
of
the
pub
in
Noida
Mall
were
taken
into
custody
on
April
10
over
a
music
video
that
featured
images
from
the
popular
Ramanand
Sagar's
mythological
serial
Ramayan.
The
police
said
that
DJ
played
a
spoof
of
Scene
Kya
Hai-a
Ravan
mashup
feat.
Nucleya
and
Divine'
on
the
screen.
Several
characters
from
the
1987
show
were
clipped
in
the
video
while
the
beats
of
the
song
were
played
along
with
the
scenes.
The
FIR
was
registered
under
Sections
153A
(promoting
enmity
between
different
groups)
and
295
(injuring
or
defiling
place
of
worship)
of
the
Indian
Penal
Code.
As
per
reports,
pub
owners
Pooja
Choudhary
and
her
husband
Manak
were
summoned
for
interrogation
at
the
police
station
on
Monday,
as
stated
by
additional
DCP
Shakti
Awasthy.
Following
this,
Manak
and
manager
Abhishek
were
taken
into
custody
by
the
authorities.
Speaking
to
TOI,
DCP
Awasthy
said,
"The
video
being
played
on
the
DJ
screen
showed
some
images
from
the
Ramayan
serial.
Someone
recorded
that
and
uploaded
it
on
social
media.
A
case
was
registered
at
Sector
39
police
station
when
the
social
media
video
came
to
our
notice."
"The
DJ
is
currently
in
Chennai.
We
are
getting
in
touch
with
him," DCP
Awasthy
added.
Meanwhile,
Pooja
Choudhary
told
the
portal
that
the
pub's
senior
management
was
unaware
of
the
video
and
they
were
cooperating
with
the
police.
She
said,
"We
are
cooperating
with
the
police
in
whatever
way
we
can.
We
didn't
know
the
DJ
would
play
something
controversial
that
could
hurt
people's
religious
sentiments.
That
has
never
happened
here
before."
