According to media reports, Ankit breathed his last at the age of 29 on August 19 and the news came to light after Insha shared an obituary for him. She wrote, "Take me one day back, I promise to do things differently! Come back baby, please? I miss you". Following her posts, several fans have paid a tribute to Ankit and sent strength to Insha during this time of grief.

While there have been endless speculations about the reason behind Ankit's sudden demise, it is reported that he died of a heart attack while sleeping. In fact, Insha also re-shared a friend's post on social media which clarified Ankit's cause of death. The post read as, "To all those making fake assumptions. He was a healthy person and had no medical history. It was unexpected and sudden cardiac arrest while sleeping. In another emotional post, Insha shared a beautiful pic with Ankit. She wrote, "Ankit, you left me to be with God, and it's so unfair. Our 1.5 years together were far too short.
