Why Was Chahat Fateh Ali Khan Removed From YouTube?

On Thursday, June 6, Chahat Fateh Ali Khan's viral song, Bado Badi, was taken down by YouTube. According to the reports, the song was removed due to copyright infringement issues. The issue revolves around the melody and the composition of the song, which has striking similarities with Noor Jehan's film Banarsi Thug, released in 1973.

On the other hand, Chahat Fateh Ali Khan's song garnered immense popularity across South Asia in the last couple of weeks. The song featured model Wajdan Rao, along with the singer. It reached a whopping 28 Million views before it was taken down from the app.

In an Instagram video, both of the songs are being compared while another singer could be seen performing live on stage which signifies that the song has already been popular. Watch here:

Chahat Fateh Ali Khan rose to fame during the lockdown. He garnered immense popularity on social media after people made thousands of viral reels and memes out of this song. He also appeared on several podcasts after his newfound fame. In one of his interviews, he revealed that ex-Pakistani cricketer Aqib Javed used to play under his captaincy.

Interestingly, Chahat Fateh Ali Khan participated in the 1983-84 Quaid-E-Azam trophy where he scored 16 runs. Later, he moved to the UK and played club cricket for 12 years.
