Overcoming Racism to Pursue Acting

Sachiin shared a poignant experience from 2014 when he auditioned for an acting role but was rejected due to his skin colour. "I moved to India around 2011-2012 from Dubai. I came here and wanted to become an anchor, voiceover artiste and an actor as well. I remember it was 2014 when I went for an acting audition and I was told clearly on my face that they are looking for a fair individual. It completely put me off and since then till last year, I didn't look into acting at all," he said.

This incident dampened his aspirations in acting for years. However, Kashyap Chandhock, a producer and casting director who believed in Sachiin's potential, played a crucial role in bringing him back to acting. "The Producer of this project and also the casting director, Kashyap Chandhock is the one who got me back... Whenever we met, he always insisted that I should act," Sachiin explained.

A Role Close to Heart

In 'Tu Chal Main Aaya,' Sachiin portrays Sanket Patil, a life insurance agent from Nalasopara with dreams of becoming wealthy and owning a bungalow in Mumbai. This character is vastly different from Sachiin's real-life persona as a stylish anchor known for his fashionable attire. "I am known as a fashionable icon... However, my character here is exactly opposite," he noted.

The role resonated deeply with Sachiin because it allowed him to connect with his Marathi roots. "It is very close to my heart because it is a 'Marathi mulga' and hence I could also resonate with the character a lot," he added.

Sachiin's journey from facing racism to making a comeback in acting showcases his resilience and determination. As he continues to excel as an anchor and now ventures into acting, we wish him all the best for his future endeavours.
