ED Finds 'Irregularities' In Coldplay & Diljit Concert Tickets Sale
Enforcement Directorate (ED) said on Saturday that they detected alleged "irregularities" after conducting raids in a money laundering investigation into "black marketing" tickets of Coldplay and Diljit Dosanjh's concert ticket. The searches were done on Friday at 13 locations, including Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur (Rajasthan), Bengaluru (Karnataka), Punjab (Chandigarh). Generally, the concert tickets are sold on Zomato, BookMyShow, and other similar sites. However, due to a surge in demand, tickets were sold out quickly, leading people to look out for different options.
Economic Times reports ED stating, "Searches and investigation conducted by ED has revealed information regarding multiple individuals known for providing such tickets, including fake tickets through social media using Instagram, WhatsApp and Telegram." Amid the raids, several "incriminating materials" like phones, laptops, and SIM cards were found. These things were used in ticket sales "scam."
