Ghost In The Shell And Naruto Voice Actress Atsuko Tanaka Passes Away; Fans Pay Tribute

We have a sad news for the manga lovers! Atsuko Tanaka, who is famously known for lending voice to Motoko Kusanagi in the Ghost In The Shell sadly passes away on August 20, 2024. The voice artist breathed her last at the age of 61 years. She had also lent her voice to the character Konan in the famous manga, Naruto.
Atsuko Tanaka's Death Reason
According to the reports, the voice artist has been battling with an undisclosed illness since last year. Now, whether her sudden death is linked to it or not, it is still unknown. The Manga Mogura RE confirmed the news of her death and wrote, "Ghost in the Shell" Voice Actress Atsuko Tanaka sadly passed away. She voiced most famously Motoko Kusanagi in "Ghost in the Shell", Konan in "Naruto", among others."
Apart from these, she has also lent voice as Bayonetta in Bayonetta, Caster in Fate, Lisa Lisa in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, etc.
Fans Pay Tribute To Atsuko Tanaka
After the artist passed away, X users have expressed grief and paid tribute to the voice artist. One wrote, "From the CODM community, we express our deepest condolences and our many thanks for voicing an iconic character."
