Recently, Ankita Dubey from Lucknow, who has been seen in shows like Savdhaan India, Gumraah, Santoshi Maa, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, etc, got candid about her journey in the showbiz world and said that it wasn't a cakewalk.
Recently, Ankita recalled, "I always wanted to be an actor and I was sure I would become famous if I went to Mumbai. While one of my relatives was living in Mumbai, I asked my parents to send me to the city of dreams. However, I got a reality check after reaching Mumbai as everyone in the crowd there wanted to become an actor. My relatives also discouraged me following which I returned to Lucknow".
Interestingly, while Ankita completed her studies and moved to Delhi after completing journalism, her acting skills continued to make her the talk of the town. After encouragement from friends and colleagues, Ankit returned to Mumbai in 2014 to try her luck in acting and started giving auditions.
During her struggling days, one of her friends suggested Ankita about making videos on social media which might help her in getting the roles. Following this she started making short videos in the fashion and dance genre and eventually got much-awaited recognition. "I started working for Savdhaan India, Gumraah, then I got the lead show for Doordarshan, then worked for another show in Doordarshan called Dil Aashna hai. Then I worked for &TV's Santoshi Maa. Then I worked with Sonam Kapoor for a Kalyan Jewellers ad And many more," she added.
Later, Ankita took a break from her career to pursue a degree in fashion design. While the Covid pandemic became a hurdle she did get a chance to feature in a web series which was later shelved. "Still I didn't lose hope. I continued creating more content on social media and my efforts worked when I got a chance to work for the famous show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah".
Ankita also shared an important piece of advice for other creators and stated, "Please don't lose hope and start creating different types of content for social media. This will keep you motivated and help you grow your acting and timing skills".
