Neha Dhupia, Sonu Sood, Siddharth Nigam On Launching Inaugural GoFlo Run In Mumbai
The GoFlo Run gathered women for fitness and menstrual hygiene awareness in India, featuring notable personalities and celebrating resilience, support, and community.

At the MMRDA Grounds in BKC, a groundbreaking event took place, marking a significant moment in the realm of fitness and women's empowerment. The GoFlo Run, in its debut, brought together a vast gathering of women, all rallying for a cause that spans beyond the physical realm—menstrual hygiene awareness. The event, which was supported by Stayfree & Nova Saki Media, saw significant figures such as Neha Dhupia, Sonu Sood, and Anita Lobo, an ex-national level athlete and Director of GoFloRun, kickstart the day, underlining the collective drive towards enhancing women's health and wellness.
The participation of notable individuals like Siddharth Nigam and Saiyami Kher, alongside top professionals from various fields including gynecology, fitness, psychiatry, and more, such as Dr. Nozer Sheriar of C3, Brinston Miranda, Dr. Rickson Pereira, Ayesha Billimoria, Dr. Sapna Bangar, and representatives from C3 and Stayfree's Manoj Gadgil, further magnified the event's impact. Their presence and support were pivotal in steering the initiative toward its transformative goal.
The event's inception was electrified by a Zumba session, which set a vibrant tone for the rest of the day. Women of all backgrounds convened to participate in 10km, 5km, and 3km runs. This gathering was not just a physical showcase but a profound celebration of resilience, strength, and unity. It served as a platform for breaking stigmas and promoting overall well-being, thereby sending a powerful message that echoed well beyond the confines of the venue.
Neha Dhupia, an ardent advocate for fitness and women's health, shared her reflections on the day, emphasizing the significance of solidarity and personal stories of courage among the participants. "What moved me most today wasn't just the number of women who showed up, but the stories behind each face—the courage it takes to show up for yourself and for each other. It's about more than fitness or breaking stigmas; it's about saying, 'I see you, I stand with you.' GoFlo Run has given us a space where we can celebrate those small yet profound acts of strength. This day will be remembered not just for the run, but for the bonds it created."
Anita Lobo's thoughts resonated with this sentiment, highlighting the event's role in altering the solitary battles many women face into a collective journey of support and empowerment. "Standing here today, surrounded by so many incredible women, I'm reminded of the quiet struggles we often face alone—juggling health, responsibilities, and societal expectations. GoFlo Run is about changing that narrative. It's about reminding every woman that she's not alone, that there's a community rooting for her. Seeing mothers, daughters, friends, and strangers come together with such purpose is a moment I'll carry in my heart for a long time."
Sonu Sood and Saiyami Kher also shared their enthusiasm and reflections on the day, with Sood noting the event's groundbreaking nature and Kher discussing her personal experiences with marathons and the broader significance of running. "GoFlo Run has set an incredible precedent. It's heartwarming to see this level of enthusiasm and togetherness for such a crucial cause. When women come together, they create change, and today is proof of that," stated Sood. Kher added, "I completed my first full marathon in 2016, and since then, I've participated in 20 half marathons. This year, I also completed my first Ironman 70.3. From firsthand experience, I can tell you that running isn't just about physical fitness—it's so much more. You realize you're far stronger than you think you are. To all the amazing ladies taking part in the GoFloRun, I wish you the very best. I'll be there cheering you on, so let's do this together! Take care, and I fully support the GoFloRun."
Siddharth Nigam echoed these sentiments, underlining the emotional journey that accompanies the physical aspect of the run. "GoFlo Run is not just a physical journey but an emotional one. It's a privilege to witness this powerful show of unity, resilience, and determination."
As the event wrapped up, it was clear that it had fostered a deep sense of community and commitment amongst the participants, towards not just their individual health and fitness, but also towards the broader cause of menstrual hygiene awareness. This inaugural GoFlo Run has undoubtedly laid down a formidable marker for future events, turning fitness into a grand celebration of empowerment, community, and unlimited potential.
