Paris Olympics 2024 Manu Bhaker Prize Money: The much talked about Paris Olympics 2024 tournament has begun with a grand ceremony lately and the sportsmen across the world have been seen giving each other a tough fight at the prestigious event. Interestingly, July 28 turned out be a proud day for Indians as Manu Bhaker went on to create history at the Paris Olympics 2024 by winning a bronze medal in shooting and opened India's account at the event.
For the uninitiated, Haryana's Manu Bhaker became the first Indian woman to clink a medal in shooting at the Olympics and also ended the country's 12 year long dry spell in shooting. Earlier, Gagan Narang had won a bronze medal 10m air rifle competition and Vijay Kumar clinched a bronze in rapid fire pistol game during Olympics 2012. Needless to say, Manu Bhaker is over the moon with her achievement.
Paris Olympics 2024: Manu Bhaker Prize Money
As Manu has created history, she will be getting a whopping prize money post clinching the bronze medal at the Paris Olympics 2024. According to media reports, while the bronze medal winners got Rs 25 lakhs prize money by the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) during the Tokyo Olympics, prize money has reportedly been increased for the Paris Olympics 2024. It is reported that Manu Bhaker will receive Rs 50 lakhs after winning a bronze medal at the Paris Olympics 2024. To note, this prize money will be in addition the cash prizes she will be receiving from Indian government.
Sharing her excitement about winning a bronze medal, Manu stated, "After Tokyo, I was very disappointed and it took me a very long time to overcome that. Frankly speaking, I really can't explain how good I am feeling today. It feels very surreal. I put in a lot of effort and even in the last shot, I was just fighting with all energy that I had. This is bronze and I'm very grateful that I could win a bronze for India... Maybe for better next time"
