Sharda Sinha Health Update: Renowned folk and classical singer Sharda Sinha - popularly known as 'Bihar Kokila' - has been hospitalized and is currently on ventilator support. The Padma Shri and Padma Vibhushan recipient singer Sharda Sinha's son Anshuman has recently revealed that she's in a lot of pain and has been admitted to Delhi AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) Hospital.

According to an ANI report, the 72-year-old singer has been battling multiple myeloma (a form of blood cancer) since 2018. Reportedly, her health deteriorated on Monday and was put on ventilator. According to the official statement released by AIIMS, quoted by ANI, the singer's health is now "harmodynamically stable but under constant monitoring".
Who Is Sharda Sinha?
Sharda Sinha is a popular Indian classical and folk singer, originally hailing from Bihar, who predominantly sings in Maithili and Bhojpuri languages. She is popularly known as 'Bihar Kokila' (the cuckoo of Bihar) for her melodious voice.
In 1991, the singer was awarded with the prestigious Padma Shri award for her significant contribution to the world of music. She also received the Padma Bhushan award - India's third highest civilian award - in January 2018.

Born on 1st October 1952 in Hulus, Bihar, Sharda Sinha has several Chhath songs - like 'Kelwa Ke paat Par Ugalan Suraj Mal', 'Roje Roje Ugelaa', 'Suna Chhathi' and 'Hey Chhathi Maiya' to name a few - to her credit. She has also lent her voice in Hindi songs, including Salman Khan films 'Maine Pyar Kiya' and 'Hum Apke Hai Kon'.

In 1970, she had tied the knot with Brajkishore Sinha and welcomed two kids - Anshuman (son) and Vandana (daughter).
Earlier in September this year, her husband passed away due to brain haemorrhage. Ever since her husband's demise, the singer was in shock.
