Veronica Vanij Calls For Authentic Women's Empowerment In Bollywood Amid Commercialisation
Veronica Vanij addresses women's empowerment in Bollywood, recognising progress while critiquing its commercialisation. Her vision promotes genuine narratives that prioritise equality and integrity in the industry.

Veronica Vanij, a rising star in Bollywood, is making waves not just for her acting skills but also for her outspoken on women's empowerment in the industry. Her journey has been marked by a commitment to professional excellence, earning her praise from directors and producers alike. Veronica's ability to discuss critical issues, from gender bias to women's rights, with grace and humility, has made her a respected voice in entertainment circles.
At a recent event, when questioned about the progress of women's empowerment in Bollywood, Veronica didn't hold back. She acknowledged the contributions of visionary directors and powerful female figures in raising awareness about 'nari shakti'. However, she criticized the commodification of women's empowerment by some, emphasizing the need for films and subjects that genuinely empower women, beyond mere commercial interests. "All thanks to some visionary directors and some really strong and powerful women, the awareness around women empowerment and 'nari shakti' is a lot more than before. Having said that, I truly feel that at times, more than pushing forward the actual essence of women empowerment, sometimes, some people use it as a narrative just for commercializing the whole thing. I feel that isn't right. What I mean is we should have subjects and films that empower women because they are important for the society and not just because it is a trending topic and hence it might be feasible commercially. If a film is made with good and the right intent, the commercial part will be taken care of anyway. Having said that, we truly have come a long way forward from where we were 10-20 years back. From justified pay for women to giving them equal respect as the male counterpart, we are slowly and steadily getting close to that level but there's a lot of work that needs to be done still. I think according to me, the biggest challenge is to focus on the right intent and keep away the commercial angle out of it. If we do that, we will make the industry an even better place for women to work and function. I am looking forward to that day," she stated.
Veronica highlighted the significant strides made in Bollywood regarding gender equality, such as equitable pay and respect for women, while also pointing out the ongoing need for improvement. Her vision for the industry is one where commercial interests do not overshadow genuine empowerment.
Veronica Vanij's candid discussion on these issues not only showcases her maturity but also her hope for a more equitable future in Bollywood. As she continues to take on exciting projects, her fans eagerly await official announcements about her upcoming work. Veronica's voice in the industry serves as a beacon for change, inspiring others to prioritize integrity and equality in their creative pursuits.
